One reason this program could possibly turn a corner in 2015

So far only one individual from the 2014 recruiting class has left the program (Hester).

R. Lewis and K. Olsen are the only ones who left from the 2013 class. Sandland also left but he'd have graduated by now anyways.

After several years of significant roster turnover, with varying agendas and different coaches being shuffled around, perhaps some stability will help a bit.

And when I say help a bit I mean maybe we'll go 9-3. We all know that Golden is a poor football coach but perhaps with enough things working in his favor he can get over the hump with a few breaks.

There's certainly enough talent in place to win the Coastal.

You forgot about Antonio Crawford

We had 13 NFL caliber players on last year's team go in the draft and went 6-7. How many on this year's team?

9-3. Awesome. The University would look at that as positive progress in Golden's 'second year', and we'll be stuck with him until the inevitable collapse.

Being stuck with terrible coaches because of a lack of commitment to excellence has done in other programs, just as it is currently killing ours.

He was part of the vaunted 2012 class

If Golden went 9-3, he could bounce on his own terms. You never know.... there could be a dumb school out there who would offer him a little more money. Still, if Miami doesn't win the coastal regardless of a 9-3 record, he's gone I would think. Shalala isnt here anymore to save his ***.

The Golden Factor! Only FSU and Clemson should be concerns and I believe with aggressive play we could beat either. Although we have a weak schedule, fact is there will be 2 games we should win, but won't because of the Golden Factor.

I don't agree because of the following reasons:

1. Primarily Coaching (wt. Golden will always be)
2. Only 4 really good "experienced" Offensive Linemen. Can't rely on unproven freshmen.
3. Thin at LB
4. Will be better at DL, but scheme will inevitably be serious factor
5. Thin at DB plus the catch the tackle technique keeps the Defense on the field too long.

But Al says this will be our first season with quality depth....You have to wait until the 8th game for the statement that we don't have any depth...At least that's the quote for the last four years..

Nobody will give this guy a HC position after his stint here is over. Golden missed any chance he had a few years back, and really the only places i see he could have gone. Would have been the level he came from prior to taking this gig.

Golden will be a LB coach the rest of his life. If he chooses to stay in coaching.

Now that it has been brought to Golden's attention that he has not hit his attrition quota with those two classes, expect numerous transfers between now and the fall. Thanks Rok.

For us to go 9-3, it means only 3 coaches will NOT out coach Al this year. Did all the ACC HCs get fired or something?

The first time I see one of our DE's attempting to cover the other teams WR 25 yards down the field, all my warm and fuzzy feelings about our roster stability will evaporate. 4-8.

I was wondering when the heel-turn would come.

It's the best part of the off-season.

OL is going to have to come together in a big way for 9-3. Not saying it can't be done but it's going to take some luck.

The only way this team turns the corner in 2015 is if Frauden gives his resignation letter to the BOT.

You bring up a good point. I don't think Golden is going to stay one way or the other. If he does poorly, he'll be fired. If he does moderately well, he'll parlay that into another gig.

The public pressure, the public disrespect, the public derision, and the public dismissal of him as UM's head coach can't be ignored by Golden or his family. He's a square peg in a round hole. He knows it, we know it, the broadcasters know it and say it, and the sports writers know it and say it.

Deep down, he knows he isn't up to this job. The first opportunity to bolt - he's gone.

He screws up, he's gone.

Golden is gone.
