One AP voter’s rationale

C’mon now, we’d be saying the same thing if it was a man…
We should kill her for her actions. But if you could see the posts I deleted, my post would make more sense. It was not directed at the majority of posters. Just the select few. They know who they are.

THIS is why the ap is a joke. I don't care three ***** about someone's opinion who knows nothing about what they vote on and even less about their biases. ***** lame. This hype of USF is amusing as well. Feel free to say you can't sleep on them. But be real. #1 Boise is nothing without jeanty. They showed that last season. #2 The turds simply showed again they're nothing but the usual sec hype train with no substance. Gotta stop acting like these people proved much of anything at this point. All I'm gonna say is I jumped all over that 16.5 for 5k. It's free money.
The thing is if we are going to do the weekly ranking especially early, imo the best way to do it IS actually the overreactions early and not purely based on ratings the first few weeks. Like they use the preseason rating and assumptions so much, but at the end of the day it’s just factual USF has one of the 5 best Resumes up to this point IF you were strictly basing it on preseason ratings/assumptions. If they had a Nebraska/LSU/etc logo even if they played the same, they’d be ranked top 5 guaranteed.

So like if you’re doing the preseason pollls, then ranking them after 2 weeks…. USF SHOULD be even higher than 18! Obvious USF isnt actually that good, but they earned a high ranking and then after we beat them they would deserve to fall a bit. It’s simpler that way imo, even if more cracked out lol. Like we are a long way off from the end of the season. I see no reason you can’t have significant jumps through the polls the first month and a half, before it begins to stabilize.

How it’s done now is like some ****** hybrid of ranking and ratings and is determined by people who probably watch like 2 games, and by actual team/region specific reporters.. it’s very dumb. Like I very much think if you lose week 1, you probably should be fully removed from at least the top 15.

like to me I actually view Rece Davis, Jon Wilmer, and that other Means guy who have USF highest of anyone as more credible in their rankings, and as people who are ACTUALLY looking at resumes more unbiased. I don’t believe they are saying they believe USF is going to FINISH a top 13 team, but they’re saying they deserved to be ranked this high due to their accomplishments today. It seems fair to me. And as more better teams play more games and prove themselves they will obviously push their way to the top

This is also why PSU and UGA do not deserve to be ranked. This season, they have done nothing to warrant their ranking. They will have plenty of opportunities to make their case, but they have not done so thus far because of their terrible scheduling.

If we would understand that teams should only be ranked based on actual achievements, we would create a greater incentive for teams to schedule challenging early season games. As it is now, PSU and UGA are being rewarded for playing a poor schedule. That should never occur.

One person has UGA ranked ahead of UM. Based on what? Pre-season guesses (which is all it is anyway). Relying so heavily on pre-season guesses, especially when we won the QB battle with UGA, is as dumb as the lady who uses a proverbial dartboard for her rankings.

And you have to give them the chance, even if statistically speaking, chances are that they won’t. Because what if they do?

So I see Haley Sawyer, Dave Preston and Mike Jacques as having UF over USF.
I don’t see the other 5, but my eyes aren’t what they used to be, and I’m looking on an IPhone.

It's not the fact that it's a woman voting this way. There are plenty of people involved that have no idea what they are doing. It's the deflection of "it doesn't matter how I vote because there is so many people voting that it balances itself out."

So if it doesn't matter how you vote then why are you voting in the first place? It's a societal norm now to find excuses and to do it care free with a smile on your face that irks me.
It's that layered on top of "I won't go too deep into my process" as if she has one that is based on anything other than vibes.

Had she not posted any video or explanation this would've never been a story.

While I'd say better wins should be rewarded more right now - so like Ohio State, Miami, LSU should be higher, at least UGA hasn't lost yet.. Sure they haven't beaten anyone, but they should still be ranked top 10-15 due to their preseason rating and that not being true/false yet. then like the Texas/ND who lost should have automatically been lowed outside top 15. And only cause they lost to highly rated opponents early+close they should remain ranked. If you get blown out or just beaten by a lowly rated team, you should be out early until you prove yourself.

Like idk exactly how I'd have it rated, but I'd probably be more like:
1. Ohio St
2. Miami
3. LSU
4. FSU
5. Oregon
6. USF
7. PSU
8. UGA
9. Utah
10. Illinois

Why is Indiana so much lower than fsu?

Why is Indiana so much lower than fsu?
Cause Blowing out Bama is much more impressive than blowing out Illinois.

Could probably have Indiana ahead of Oregon/PSU this week, but like they play eachother next week, so almost irrelevant. That week that winning team will move into top 3 probably.

Indiana won 63-10 against #9 Illinois
FSU won by a score of 31-17 against Bama.

I’m not impressed with bama this year but too early to tell.

Sure, but Both Bama and FSU scoring efficiencies is very highly rated currently. And FSU Dominated Bama pretty much the entire game.

Illinois only win was Duke and that was close most the game until Duke had 5 turnovers - and 4 of them being fumbles which recovering is mostly luck. And then Duke lost to Tulane who was looking good but then just got blown out by Ole Miss today, though Duke did come back to win against NCST. And Indiana didn't dominate Old Dominion or anything. Won by 13 with ODU QB throwing 3 INTs.

FSU is likely the more talented by roster composition, and beat the more talented team by roster comp, and has absolutely killled the 2 cupcakes they have faced.

But honestly this was just a quick ranking. I'll edit Monday like I did for last week after all the stats are updated for this week. Probably should have LSU at 7 Indiana at 8 right above Oregon and PSU.
