Miami Hurricanes updates: AD candidate impresses; indecision on Manny Diaz continues
Eddie Nunez, a Miami native who has served as New Mexico's AD since 2017, received strong reviews from the school's administration.theathletic.com
Only important info in there:
I know of subdivisions of State government in Cali (not Washington) giving employees who interact with the public the option to test weekly if they refuse a vaccination. If they refuse that too they get canned. Let’s not make this into a politics thread. You don’t know if he was following a policy from the Board, the President… Dude is apparently well-regarded.
Ok. It looks like they have a vaccination mandate and the Catholic Church doesn’t forbid it. HR often errs on the side of caution. Anyhow, you and I can differ on this.![]()
Governor: Vax mandate not aimed at Rolovich
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee is disputing Nick Rolovich's statements that the Democrat targeted the former Washington State football coach with his statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all public employees.www.espn.com
Rolovich applied for a religious exemption. The WSU human resources dept granted the exemption. Chun overturned the HR depts determination. It was a cowardly move by the AD made purely for political and PR reasons. F#ck that guy. We've had enough political buttlickers as AD.
Apparently if they wait to fire him Wednesday (tomorrow) we save 2 millon....I don't know if thats true but we will see tomorrow. So how come the President can fire the AD but not the coach??? If their committed to this massive budget increase get rid of the coach and make it happen. Instead the coach is out recruiting. The fanbase has been a victim of nothing but their own ignorance.
They won't listen.Y’all listen to Jack and Cribby.

Can u photocopy it for me?I been meaning to ask to have someone write my de commitment from Miami fandom if Manny returns.
Two stars for two Chelsea FC champions leagues victoriesWho is this guy and why he has only 2 stars next to his name? Is that his rating?
Well then, Nunez & his very RED jacket are safe.I’m a hard no to anyone who wears an orange jacket.
If they wanted Manny to stay, don’t you’d think they’d publicly say that? If there was even a chance he’s coming back they would have made a statement to help recruitingIt makes sense. We've come up with a million ****** reasons as to why the BOT/Julio hasn't fired Manny yet. If we wanted Manny out, he would have already been out. We just don't have the support internally to pull this off. We're a C-rated program. Accept it.
I don’t want to get into it but like I said - in Cali, if they don’t get a vaccination they have to test. If they refuse tht then they’re gone. Time to drop it or I have to kick me and you out of the thread.Happy to differ but there is only one legal test. As a military lawyer I dealt with these all the time. The legal standard has absolutely nothing to do with a church's position. What matters is if he has true and sincere religious belief. All exemptions are written this way because you don't want to go down the rabbit hole of telling people how to interpret their faith. There is a huge contingent of catholic bishops who say the vaccine should be refused because it was derived from aborted fetal tissue. It's not the ADs job to say "I believe the group of bishops who say catholics can get the exemption over the group that says you shouldnt."
now that doesn't mean he gets to go around coughing on everyone without a mask. The correct way to deal with the religious exemption is to err on the side of person requesting it (religious freedom being a fundamental right) and then put all sorts of conditions like constant testing, distancing, etc. If he violates the conditions, then he can be fired for cause. Any halfway competent AD should know this. WSU is going to lose the lawsuit and will be paying Rolovich a lot of money, especially since the school initially granted the exemption and Chung overturned it. The lawsuit (which Rolovich will win) will be 100% on Chung. He had a very easy way of accommodating the exemption while giving WSU and airtight reason to fire him for cause if he violated the accomodations. Any AD too dumb to know this, or so politically motivated he ignores basic steps that would make sure WSU was on firm ground if it terminated Rolovich, should not be a candidate for AD.
Hope u r right man. Jurich is a great choice but our school is a bunch of soft shouldered pussysThe more I hear about Nuñez, the more I like what I hear. Stop focusing on New Mexico, look at what he did at L$U. He has really impressed some people.
