Being a young qb William's did I great job to get away from the initial rush but didnt throw it away so lead to 5 sacks becoming into 10. There were slot of of missed assignments on that offensive line were you see guards double teaming when they should be playing their responsibility and that's where the person shot through for pressure.

Some of those sacks were definitely on Jarren. He holds the ball way too long.

I agree... half of those sacks were on Jarren no doubt, oline gotta lot of work to do but the QB gotta help them out much better than he did... It seemed like he was too worried about not throwing an interception. Sometimes you gotta take risk and throw the ball to the WRs even if they’re covered and see what happens.

No you do not take risks with the ball. Especially with a Defense like ours. The only conceivable risk is when you're in the waning minutes or seconds and you must make a play.

JW is the polar opposite of Franks. Jarren definitely held the ball too long on some plays, but his eyes were constantly downfield waiting for something to develop. In time, he’ll build that internal clock and get it to his checkdown and live to play another down (how much would a minimal gain have benefitted us last night as opposed to a disastrous sack?).

Franks, on the other hand, was constantly flustered as soon as anything flashed in front of him. I’d hate to be a receiver in that offense, and wouldn’t trade QBs by a **** site.

if I throw an interception 50 yards down field it’s much better for the defense to work with then constantly taking sacks already backed up on your side of the field... Hedley was punting out of our end zone to many times bc of sacks that doesn’t help the defense.

Throw the ball deep take a risk and gamble on our WR talent... Jeff Thomas, Hightower, Mallory, Brevin, and Osborn can beat a man one on one deep.

The only knock on Jarrens game by the staff is he doesn’t like to throw the ball unless guys are open, which isn’t going to happen all the time. I actually posted that here.

So he’ll just keep holding it waiting for separation, which causes sacks. He also needs to learn to throw it away.

He’s the least of my worries.

Apparently you have not read "Football 101." Turning the ball over increases a teams loss percentage. That's why in football we have this thing called " Punt"

Williams, in his first career start, had far better accuracy and decision making when he actually threw than Franks ever will.

His issues, holding the ball too long and slight indecisiveness befoer pulling the trigger are fixable, coachable issues.

Teaching what he did when the ball left his hand are far, far more difficult to do.

I'll tke that all day long.

Sacks are just as demoralizing as interceptions... getting sacked constantly on our own side of the field is much worse than throwing an interception downfield. Either way it sucks but atleast taking shots downfield trusting your receivers gives our offense a chance to make a play or even get some PI calls. At worst it gives our defense better field position to work with.

Agreed.

He also made some incredibly quick decisions and great throws as well.

I’m not worried about him figuring it out

UF had 16 tackles for loss.

It's clear the real problem here isn't Jarren.

There was 5-6 plays he had all day and he kept holding on to the ball. He also could’ve avoided some losses by just simply throwing the ball away. It’s pretty basic football for a qb rolling out and nobody is open. Not sure the deal with that , you can coach that though.

IMO he was almost too comfortable in the pocket , even when it was breaking down around. He could’ve ran a few times but didn’t. Kid was almost calm to a fault.

Just fair criticism , as I said he’s the least of my worries, we’re just going to deal with growing pains with this o.
