On Ny Carr...Staying at UM

So you think the praise for them is false?

I don’t like this move for Carr. I don’t like moving off players that quickly. Hes still young and needs to develop more. But don’t you think they would praise Carr as well if he was doing well?
Outside of proof of life reports have very little meaning. These are rehearsed comments made to generate hope.

Not comparing the two situations and it sounds like this was more mutual, but it is no wonder guys like Nico tried to renegotiate. Not saying Nico and his camp made the right decision, but when the school can essentially decide you are too expensive nudge you out the door,

We're starting to see a pattern with these Miami Portal departures: talented players who had coaches genuinely excited at one point, but plateaued in their development and struggled to get on the field this spring.

Carr is a guy I loved in spring '24. He got open consistently and made plays from Cam Ward and others. Over time, his inconsistency became a concern and his body was slow to develop. This led to some nagging injuries, including missing significant time this spring (like Josh Horton and Zaquan Patterson). Carr's absence allowed guys like Malachi Toney, Josh Moore and Daylyn Upshaw to thrive, and his '24 classmate JoJo Trader jumped to another level physically and in terms of consistent production.

Given his price tag, the urgency of modern college football, and Carr's eagerness to play, the sides parted ways. I never heard a bad word about him, and he has a chance to produce at his next stop if he physically matures. In my opinion, this would be a player to target in the Portal for other teams.
I forgot about Moore , you think new will get some playing time since he like only but wr we have ?

Also this another reason everyone really needs to take EVERYTHING that is reported by ANYONE covering UM, about any young guy "looking great", to hear months later they have somehow plateaued with a grain of salt. That is not the truth. Mario has complete control of everyone covering UM and has fed what he wants fed.

Why did Emory get praise?

Did Emory get praise while Cam was riding the bench?

And how many WRs can play at once, compared to QBs?

You don't think it's a good idea to say some nice things about our 2nd string QB when we have nobody else to turn to? You think that Mario and the coaching staff should have said nothing about Emory?

So Carr came in from high school, flashed and consistently got open, then with UM coaching he became inconsistent?
You could take it that way or, he flashed but then chose to not continue to work at the level that was expected, hence plateauing.

Tell me what you know, objectively, about Ny Carr's performance this spring.

I'm not even asking this rhetorically. Has anyone heard anything about Carr having a good spring? I'm not the only one at practice. The spring game was wide open to the public. What are you hearing different than what I'm being "fed?"

Goes both ways.
