On Myson Johnson-Cook

That’s the part that annoys me. The premature victory lap ****, it makes us look like a clown show.
It screams unseriousness. If you’re going to do that, you better look like Jaden McDaniels against the Nuggets in game 3.

ND has two running backs committed, and Lacey went to visit that school instead of ours and yet he is apparently our second priority. Mf didn’t even get to 600 rushing yards last season. He had 2 100+ yard games and 1 game with more than ten carries. And he’s a converted WR.

Feel like the staff shouldn’t jump the gun outside of Keys. There are better RBs out there.

Pessimistic Pete has to have a raging hard-on right now.

All jokes aside, it’s not the end of the world. Mallory has already shown he’s the RB of the future and there’s still some good RB’s out there, Elijah Kimble, for example. I’m more concerned about landing Mark Matthews and Kaden Henderson.

Miami is obviously heartbroken. Myson Johnson-Cook has rare physical tools and they spent a lot of time recruiting him.

But this ultimately came down to GM Dennis Smith making tough roster construction decisions.

I agree with the approach. If we stay stocked with the Jackson Cantwells of the world, we will run the ball.

Two names to watch at running back are Ty Keys (Picayune, Mississippi) and Brennan Lacey (Dallas, TX).

Hold Up What GIF

Lacey looks a little bigger and just like a better, more powerful, natural RB back on tape. JMO

Tillman is a nice RB but I actually like his DB tape better.

Not even talking about giving this particular situation, but how in the **** does this man have all this power?
Lacey is a converted RB and has very little experience actually running the ball. Only had 56 carries last year. Not a fan but whatever; if he commits he’s not going to play here imo.

My point is also to say we are chasing a kid who has what level of interest in us? He flaked on Miami.

This. I know social media is a big part of this now, but this dude looks like a clown way more than not. It just doesn’t seem necessary to take it to this level of amateurism. At the end of the day, did this impact the kid’s decision? Of course not. But again, it’s just unnecessary clown behavior.

How did he flake? Visiting other schools?

I'd love to see us get more heavily involved with Kelvin Morrison?

And he's getting serious attention from some real heavy hitters…Not always a huge fan of high school stats. It's what you look like when that rock is in your hand.

Better land Matthews without any excuses. I agree on not paying what Cook was getting from Auburn, but you can't than make ANY excuses for not landing Matthews when the approach is prioritizing the trenches first.

Matthews deal will simply come down to money. Better pay him whatever to make sure he is in this class.

Disappointing but already over it.

Choosing Auburn shows he was only about the short term money. Yes, it's a lot of money, life changing if managed properly, but may be lucky to sniff the CFP at Auburn unless the CFP expands.
He gets his money now and then transfers to another school for a natty. Definition of double dipping!

Why did he tweet when he didnt have deal done? Has he not learned one of the first lessons in getting deals done?

Also this is the 2nd guy we "had" publicly locked in that we lost at last second in this class.. Where is the disconnect coming from, does Dennis not know how to read these things correctly?

This is nothing new. I have mentioned this numerous times since Mario has gotten here. Reading the situation correctly with regards to a lot of recruitments has been a real issue since Mario has arrived. And the Dennis is a major part of that problem.

Man, between this and Matthews probably choosing TAM the fact Miami made a natty run basically means nothing and the manner in which they made it

The one thing we heard is that players wanted to see it and we did now they don't wanna come because others are simply offering more $

I mean sure you cant fault that but players should know a bit more

As soon as he agreed to visit auburn , Cook turned rotten smelled terribly @Shooter McGavin like low tide.

Now we all smell it , even his ceremonial commitment SMELLED.

Some were blind to it and turned on me a fellow Cane , but thats way people get at times very emotional.

He’s portal material no doubt., he sold his soul /character / conscious all terrible things .

A fall is coming his way , when you sell your soul.

I really hope its just poor word choice because Dennis has no business making roster construction decisions. But we better not be outbid for Matthews cuz at some point you just gotta pay the cost to be the boss. But I'm not worried, will let it play out. I would rather break bank for Matthews and flipping Jacobs from the Bucknuts.

Unfortunately he has too much input.
