On Jamar Thompson…

Speaking of Simpson. Massive grain of salt with pff (who would tell you Moten has sucked this year), but these are still bummers

Tradeoff between Horton & Simpson and Davis & Carter hasn't been great. 7 sacks between the former, goose egg for the later. I assume there's a similar disparity with pressures?

If this was the case, Mario was absolutely right to stand his ground. In the middle of a playoff run, it's extremely selfish to be worried about an increase in NIL. Everyone, and i mean everyone, staff and players, should be locked in on the gameplan for the next opponent.
Agreed. It seems if we negotiated an increase in his NIL during the playoff run, lots of his teammates would want the same and it would be a mess at that critical time.

College football and basketball are so messed up right now.

Where can I find NCAA pressures?

Again, huge grain of salt. I don’t think anyone would agree with Moten’s grade.

Bit of a flawed metric bc you'd need to adjust for playing time. Horton & Simpson likely getting many more opportunities.

Jamar Thompson, DL (Georgia Tech commit): Thompson was almost unblockable when we got eyes on him early on during his senior campaign at Boca Raton (Fla.) West Boca Raton and he has continued to disrupt, including this past week against Orlando (Fla.) The First Academy. A powerful and coordinated instigator, Thompson is quick to engage with his get-off and can thrash his way off blocks with clubbing hands. The effort levels can be a bit sporadic, which was more noticeable on tape as a junior, but he has improved his conditioning and constantly challenges protection when fully charged. Thompson's grade moves from a three-star 88 to a four-star 90 on 247Sports. He should offer some alignment flex at his next stop. – Ivins

Four star? Take.

Sure. But Simpson and Horton have pressure rates of 16 & 13%, respectively. Our four DTs are at 10 (Carter), 6 (Moten), 4 (Davis), 2.5 (Scott). We just haven't been generating much pressure at DT this year. Caveat, we rarely have a DT on the field on 3rd and long, which is likely skewing our numbers to the downside a bit.
