On AJ Haulcy…

In your estimation, how big of a detriment is our conference to our talent acquisition success in the current landscape
It isn't the crippling impediment it once was, when Miami couldn't legitimately compete financially without the NCAA threatening the death penalty. Some kids are impressed by the "SEC!SEC!SEC!" nonsense, just like some kids are overly impressed by how many fans are in the stadium on gameday.

If this young man wants to go to LSU, then it is what it is. That said, Miami should be competitive with the money, make the best offer possible and go from there. From what I've heard and read, that's exactly what we did, so there's nothing else to do. Always have some backup options ready to move, and if needed, bring someone back home if possible, for depth purposes.

We're going to have a better season this year than last.
I see Gojira hitt'n the good stuff with Kong in the center of the Earth on the off days.

Play this season 100 times.

I'm guesstimating Miami 2025 doesn't match Miami 2024 in at least 80/100 simulations. Perhaps matches in 15. Exceeds with a Cheetos Bowl dub-dub in 3.

Maybe exceeds with CFPO appearance in 2/100.

And last season we won 10 regular season games for the 2nd time since 2004.

Last time we did, we face planted the next year. Maybe this time we sustain it? Build on it?

Nah. Better to throw in the towel in May. Way better way to live life.
That aint the point but your overreaction is noted. You would think after 20+ years of leaning on "but the ACC sucks", that would no longer be something a Miami fan would use in projections for the season. Either you think the team is good or you don't. ACC teams for 2 decades have proven to be better on certain Saturdays than we wanted to believe.

Isn’t the goal to win this shîtty conference first?

The ACC does suck. Donkey ****.

The problem is not that the ACC is good. It’s that MIAMI has sucked. Bigger donkey ****. King Kong ****, one might say.

They didn’t suck donkey **** last year. Didn’t win the league, because we’re cursed beyond comprehension, but it was one of the ~15 best teams in the country. Certainly one of the best Miami teams in the past 20 years. There’s no rule you have to get smacked right back down into the *******.

This is where I’m at. I’ve given up almost completely for the ACC championship. That’s just something that does not seem to be in the cards for us.
Not just ACC Champs...

An ACCCG appearance is likely in only 1/10 seasons for Miami.

Adjust expectations accordingly and still support them.

Whelp move on… unless the staff and NIL runners just want to run thin as much of LSUs money as they can…

Coaches are gonna have to earn their paycheck getting the guys we have with Thomas now in hip to par… plenty of talent there on paper gotta have them playing to at least a **** 2nd team all ACC level
