If Kevin Olsen had his act together Jake Heaps wouldn't be here. I agree and if I got a free ride to play the sport I love I'd **** sure be more responsible, but not every one has our mindset. What I'm trying to say is he got suspended for smoking weed when he was still the number 1 QB. What did you think would happen when you moved him to 4th string and gave him less football responsibility?

Are you serious? What did I think would happen? If the kid was worth a ****, he'd kick himself in the *** and stop ******* up so that he could at least compete for PT. As it turns out, he ****ed up again. He should be gone. End of story.

Not trying to justify bad behavior, just saying every guy in college drinks and smokes. Out of the thousands of guys and girls I met in college, I can't even count on 2 hands how many people didn't smoke or drink. It's what you do in college, party! Not saying he should've been partying, but the fact of the matter is he's our 4th string QB on the practice squad. Why does it matter if he's partying? not like he was going to get PT this season.

This completely misses the point. If this were Olsen's first transgression, maybe you could make that argument. But he's had multiple issues. The accident before arriving on campus should have been his wake-up call. Apparently it wasn't, given the reports that he came up hot in two **** tests in two years.

Bottom line, he's not taking his football scholarship seriously. It's time to move on.

Completely agree, and I think the Canes would've moved on after the suspension to start the season if not for Golden's complete misses at the position (Preston, Crow). For every star QB in college football there are 5 QBs that never took advantage of their opportunity. All I was trying to state is he's 20 and in college, don't bash the kid by saying he has a problem and needs rehab. Just wish him the best of luck as he's shown the door out.

Time to start being more realistic, after he got suspended for game 1, I knew he was never going to start here. This arrest isn't shocking, he should and probably will be gone. You could tell in spring that KO didn't want the job, when Williams went down with injury you could see that KO didn't want the job. Olsen wanted to be the 2nd string QB for his career and be able to party. And to some people that's more important than starting. It's just sad to see it happen to someone with his talent.

obviously whatever controls him has derailed him from being a serious student-athlete
either get him into some program, or send him home and let his family get him healthy

this is no longer about football, this is about a young man throwing his opportunity and life away

short leash (prior suspensions etc) means to me not allowed to party unless you are in a house under protection of good friends and certainly not operating a motor vehicle. not a question of drinking. its a question of judgment.
