You always find room if better talent wants to commit. Merrick and Milo certainly fit that description.

If Milo and/or Merrick want to be here, you have to assume they'll make room for them. St. Louis, Merrick, Milo, Dowdy (?), and one or two others would be a very nice OL class.

You get the best players possible. If Martez Ivey calls you Feb. 1 & says he wants in, you figure out a way to make it happen

The Shake Down;
It sucks but it goes both ways. Recruits decommit last minute all the time or at anytime and so does colleges or they just no longer recruit them.

At the top of my head id say christian and mahoney are gone possibly brown

My money is UM partying ways with OL Geron Christian from Ocala since it was cause the least amount of damage with him coming from an Ocala school.
Next up I would say Tyler Gauthier since the few Vince players UM has had have been a little suspect an again it would coast the least amount of recruiting blow back to UM. So that then makes room for Milo and Merrick. I think Leeward Brown sees the class filling up so he stops all the looking around an solidify's his commitment to UM. I don't think staff pushes the anyone away until late in the season just to hedge against any last minute flips away from UM.

Go Canes

Trench warfare calls for ugly tactics. You take whoever gives you the opportunity to dominate the line of scrimmage.

I seen a retweet on twitter stating an article that OL Geron Christian is going take visits. sounds like the first casualty from the commits yesterday. I like his athleticism but he is a project. I was hoping Mahoney would be the casualty.

was just about to post that Christian seems to be 'that' guy. sounds like Mahoney is pretty dialed in though.

Hey, what happened to talk that Kehoe couldn't recruit? Or didn't put the time in - didn't like to recruit. It seems every recruit cites him as a factor in committing. Not driving his bandwagon, but let's give the man his due when deserved.

From Rivals article about Christian...

Christian currently lists 10 scholarship offers and says he plans to take all five of his official visits "to get the experience."

So far he says he'll take officials to UM, Arkansas and UCF.

"I'm not sure the others," Christian said. "I want to go to Florida State for a visit but they haven't offered yet so I'm not sure on that."

So just how solid is his Miami commitment?

"It's pretty solid right now." Christian said. "I like them a lot, but I haven't really seen too many other schools."

He says there's "a pretty strong chance" he signs with Miami in the end.

This is going to be a "Let,s see what you do in your senior year" thing.they will take commits from Milo and the other kid and see how it shakes out.

First, let me say the game is won and lost on the line. The issue is there is more than ONE LINE. There is a defensive line and we're not having the success we need on that side of the ball.

Second, we have 6 committed as of today. We have a ton of offers outstanding and at least two kids are on the radar (Merrick and Milo). I highly doubt, even if we get Merrick and Milo, that we SIGN 8 OL. It would be stupid and irrational.

With that said, 5 is probably the most we SHOULD take. Even 5 IMO is borderline overkill in ONE CLASS. I understand the OL is a crap shoot and it is difficult to project the future. With that said (2015 season) the following kids will be here: McDermott, Darling, Gadbois, Knighton, Gall and Isadora. Those 6 are all high quality players. Even if Knighton never heals or recovers, there is still 5 high quality players available in 2015. I think having a 14-15 Scholarship OL should be the goal. So in addition in 2015, we will have Linder, Wells, Odogwu and Grimsley which gets us to 10.

Finally, now we sit at 6 commits. To take in TOTAL any more than 5 is insane unless we start cutting the kids who CAN'T play (above) or WiFo. Considering the lack of PROVEN QUALITY STARTERS at other positions, perhaps we should allocate more scholarships to other areas.

We have 6: Brown, Loftus, St Louis, & Mahoney, Gautiher, Christian

Seeing as we most likely lose 7 (Flowers might go pro) linemen by 2016, I say we need at least 5 guys in this class. Things will start to thin out quickly.
