OLine Question

It's gotta get better. Something was clearly wrong when we got pushed around by 225 lb DL at Savannah State. I still remember ex FSU OL Forrest Conoly during the broadcast dumbfounded how Miami was getting pushed around by 220 lb guys. According to him we were playing way too high with straight backs and allowing Savannah State to hit us first.

Our oline is very talented. Don’t let anybody fool you. Scaife, Donaldson, Reed are some very highly rated guys. Just need to put them in the right spots. I also think we have a winner in John Campbell.

Enos is probably laughing at his new oline. Watching film like that guy sux, that guy too, they all suck! Actually he’s probably scared as chit

Watching Butch Barry had me laughing my butt off, he is something else. At the 00:47 mark is funny when he calls the player by someone else's name an then just keeps it moving like a parent with 4 kids. Jokes a side you can tell he is a technician when coaching.

U r right on, but, I think adding Kennedy and his experience and another year for Donaldson, and Scaife gaining tons of reps, and Enos knowing how to use his offense to help the line play with greatly help us. Having a Line coach who has played and at the Collegiate level, and coached at the NFL level will help immensely My three cents

I think there's talent in the starters. Depth is a huge concern/question mark going into the season - we need to pray for health, and for at least 2 more of the younger guys to show something. I do think scheme can mask some deficiencies, but as has been alluded to, we still need the horses.
All of that said, I'd expect a significant statistical jump in things like sacks allowed (we were tied for 56th last year.) And I think that our talent at the skill positions (RB, WR, TE) can really help our QB stay upright and in rhythm.

Well think about this St. Louis played tackle for us but at the All star game he played guard. NFL teams place kids in positions to succeed we didnt under last regimen.

No. NFL coaches did that because they have better tackle prospects. It's a luxury UM could not afford. Let's not act like we had someone who could play tackle better.

The Dallas Cowboys season completely changed this year when they fored their coach, hired Colombo and went from a zone scheme to a hat on a hat kick your *** downblocking scheme, we should do the same
Umm no.

We are not the cowboys. Why do you all do this? Lol

We should not be a man/power blocking team. We should be a zone blocking team.

How many high schools in Florida run that type of oline scheme? Probably 3.

FLA BACKS THRIVE in the zone scheme.

I don't buy that a new scheme will just make the O line better. That's what FSU fans said all off season a year ago, and we all know how that turned out. Our best hope is that another year of physical and mental development, along with a new approach it terms of S & C, and better coaching will turn the O line around. I still think we signed some pretty solid O line recruits the past two years. Just need a better approach from top to bottom to get more out of them

Yep I agree... The new S&C coach will hopefully get these guys in more game ready shape.... We need the line to be a lot stronger than what they appeared to be last season...

They will have to "better" scheme for the lack of talent across the board in the OL unit.

Will it help? Maybe.

Don't expect a miracle.

Miami has caused self-inflicted wounds by consistently missing the right talent with a combination of inability to further develop the talent in the room.

While it won't solve all the issues, it's bound to help. How Richt felt that the best running play to call....over and over and over again....with a weak offensive line is a delayed hand-off to a stationary RB with no momentum, designed to run between the tackles, was unbelievable given he was supposed to be a good offensive mind. On half of the plays, our OL was already pushed back 2 yards before the RB was even able to get any forward momentum going.

Good stuff man 👍. The photo is Mark's playbook. We're gonna be fine now.

With a new offensive staff and Strength coach in place I am a lot more optimistic about the OL than I was a year ago. ..Whether that optimism is warranted or not should be answered in ths first few games this coming season.
