He sealed it with those games against UF and GTECH. They were looking for any excuse to give it to him. Kinda like how Sean Taylor got robbed in 03'. (Still cant believe that one. Gave the award to Derrick Strait. LOL. Smh. ) They had to have someone off that team win an award since Jameis is going to get shut out of everything this year. Politics as usual.
 
Unreal. He is not deserving of that. Walford was the best TE this year by miles and mountains.
 
O'Leary is Fuzzy Zoeller's nephew. I'm sure some strings were pulled.
 
Out of curiosity, not that i disagree with the sentiments in this thread, i wonder what % of national awards go to players on .500 teams. Does anyone follow this closely enough to weigh in?

It was the 6-6 record and not any real difference between the two players that sealed the deal.

Players on losing teams do not get awards..............despite what you learned in children's soccer...........

That Mackey Award really worked out well for Bubba, Shockey Olsen and Graham....

tjl same thoughts here man. I expect Clive to do big things in the NFL.

As for Clive vs O'leary, its not even debatable. Clive played 1 less game as well as missing a good chunk of the last game against Pitt.

Thats ok though.

We all know who was better, it's not even a debate.
