Ole Genron at it again

"For example, former South Florida Express assistant Jon Drummond told "Outside the Lines" and others that he was the go-between for Express players and college coaches. That was before head coach Brett Goetz said Drummond would not be returning next season, because he violated a "Code of Conduct" Goetz makes all coaches sign. Goetz's "Code of Conduct" essentially states that his coaches cannot use their relationships with prospects for a profit."

Yep.
1. DT was our biggest need for 2014
2. Valentine was the best available down here
3. After hanging out at the U more than most other recruits, Genpop convinced him to head to L$U
4. We were left scrambling for Plan B and C.

Valentine did not want to play NT at 330 which is a smart move on his part and was smart to see our defensive struggles. There is a million Genrons around America. Him taking kids around america is a positive, giving kids more options and opportunities to see other places. Some just need to grow some balls and see we are simply getting out recruited. The issue with Genron if there is one, is something the Head Coach should have been took care of, as a fan base we ourselves need to stop looking for scapegoats.

What?
Valentine was scheduled to come to the U AFTER his LSU trip. Genpop wasn't gettin love from our staff and told the kid not to visit. Guess what... Valentine did not step foot on our campus. We never saw him again. That's not being outrecruited. That's our staff not "re$pecting" Genpop enough and him flexing his muscle through a kid.

The only excuse TV made was forming a better relationship with battle (who should of been a cane but he was too slow when he was an outstanding track athlete). I'm a die heart can but lets put you guys in TVs shoes as his parents, would you send an elite DT to UM? Yes UM offers a great education but in this time education is a dime of dozen where you can graduate from literally any school and make a living after college, depends on the person. The main objective of most recruits are to get to the league and make millions of dollars to provide for family. Which school LSU or UM would give him that opportunity easier. I also had a middle man similar to Genron when I was being recruited and if it was not for him there's no way I would have had the opportunity to visit Bama.

A high school coach is just supposed to show the kid his options, and put the kid in contact with the schools he might want to go to; NOT be all in his ear saying he should go to this school, while that school is paying him! You must be the kind of kid that watches Friday Night Lights (the show, not movie), and thinks Vince's father is doing the right thing, compared to his actual coach, who really does have his best interest in mind... Genron could learn a thing or two about what its like to be a good coach/person from that show.

First I'm an adult and trust me, people like Genron does not have an big influence over these kids like some are speculating, at the end of the day the kid will decide what is best for him, a lot of you are forgetting how many schools TV was committed to, by no means was he ever an cane lock. We just simply got out recruited.

Finch, we got "Genroided"!!! Plain and simple. Not out recruited. Kid was committed here. He knew **** well what the staffs plans for him were. And obviously he was fine with those plans. Enter Genron. Now all of a sudden we can't get the kid to even visit!? That's not strange to u? Like the poster above said, we offered EARLY playing time and playing in front of family and friends. LSU didn't have immediate playing time. So what were they offering? Tell me. TV turned down early playing time AND playing in front of family to take care of his family. Genroid delivered him to L$U on a platter. Probably with an apple in his mouth. I just wonder how much Genroid got paid. How much does a 5* DT bring in $EC country, nowadays?

I'm with Finch... Genron had effect on TV decommittong... Dude wasnt even looking at UM until he came to Miami... The kid was committed to UL and UF when he was at Palm Bay... The kid was always all over the place... He decommitted from 2 programs who had better defenses than we do... What was his excuse for leaving them? This guy doesn't have as much influence as many of you make it seem... We just lost TV... We had no problem getting Bush and Howard...

South Florida is like every other place in the country... Everyone has handlers... Remember Arthur and Bryce Brown handler? Dude was responsible for all the top prospects in Kansas... We just have to win there's no excuses...

I know for a fact that genron hates the coaches, and is very vocal about it, im not going to say he had the full effect on him but when TV hears this stuff 24/7 sooner or later the kid is going to buy in, but i think tunsil had more of effect of TV leaving to go to LSU

My my, the lengths people go to defend this clown. Someone could unearth a picture of him punching Howard Schnellenberger in the face and people would come here to make excuses for him...

I keep reading "his influence isn't is great as people think"; does anyone that makes this claim have anything to back it up? What we do know, for a fact, is that this "Genron" clown (1) bashes Miami any chance he gets, (2) is around and has access to recruits, (3) said recruits end up at schools other than Miami and (4) as someone posted earlier, this fool was talking about being the "middle man" in an ESPN piece. That is a great deal amount more proof that "Genron" is bad news than is some vague statement to the contrary.

I can't wait to read the replies to this, I imagine they will be quite humorous.

Oh please... No one is defending him... If anything people like you give him too much credit... Outside of TV who did we want from that school? And we were able to get the best prospects in 2012 that he was associated with... The guy has been pretty consistent expressing his dislike for the U even before Golden came on... He didn't just change in 2013...

So many people are in denial but the fact is Golden lost TV... However, TV committed to 4 schools... UL and UF have better defenses than us... Both schools put out 1st rounders this year and UF may have a 3rd consecutive year with their dline man going in the 1st round... Guess what? He decommitted from them when he was in Palm Bay... Was that Genron too? Come on... You're requesting facts but you're assessment is pure speculation...

We lost a commitment who verbally pledged to 4 schools... Genron had nothing to do with that.. If a kid wants to come to UM and his parents is on the same page as well then that kid will rep the U... No one can dissuade that kid... Kid was going with the flavor of the month...

However, some of you are correct, he had just a "little" to do with his recruitment.

No one on this board can say for sure. These are all opinions, right? Mine is that Genpop was butthurt when he got called out for lying on Duke and Tracy Howard (you remember that right?). He went on a twitter rant and he convinced TV not to take the last visit with Golden when TV came back from LSU. If ya'll think his influence was minimal then so be it but I think ya'll have to ignore a lot of facts to do it.

The important thing now is whether our staff has learned to deal with him for the sake of Clarington, etc. I'm hoping Ice can help keeping genpop in check.

If we want a kid and he truly wants to come here then he will be here... Once again TV was flip flopping before he came to Miami... We were the 3rd school he pledged too... I don't think he was "butthurt" at all... The guy never liked us and being caught in a lie isn't going to hurt his feelings... However, TV gave poor excuses to every school he decommitted from as to why he had a change of heart... What made Mia so different?

Walks like a duck. Talks like a duck. He a duck. I know Pete and company are trying to keep their street cred or sources, and I understand. But anyone who doesn't see through this cat is blind.

If this is true about TV living in Drummond's home, then anyone saying he had no influence on him is just talking ****.

It the most important position for the sec, it is why they go stupid hard for the last 3 weeks of the cycle. All the top teams go hard for DTs and we can't compete with them, and if we can't get DTs we will be recycling coaches soon and the next staff will suffer the same fate.

Still baffled how the ****bird can even be around kids. ..the ncaa is too ***** made to use substantial evidence (espn article) to take down the real problems within CFB

We still got moten, though TV really did hurt

Moten is a great player and has high level tools. But travonte......barring injury/mental breakdown, guys a future NFL pick. Genrons not nearly as bad as people make him out to be.

That being said, I seriously doubt UM(while golden and Dorito are still employed) is getting any of the elite kids he helps. **** sucks.

Guy is the spitting image of Beetlejuice from Howard Stern. CAN NOT take him seriously or view him as an adult based on that alone, Nevermind the fact that every time he speaks you have to question his IQ

LSU lost a ton of guys to the NFL, the pitched him playing time and money and NFL dreams. People thought he was gonna flip since October. It wasn't a surprise to many.
