Let me say this, I love my canes but I will agree that this has been poorly managed from a PR and organizational standpoint. I've said countless times, you had to have a plan PRIOR to sacking Blake James. It also should have been done a lot sooner than after the FSU loss. Blake was always incompetent. The move appears reactive as opposed to proactive. Turnkey should have been hired or at least on standby the moment you pulled the trigger on James. I have also said that it hurts Miami from a perception standpoint when you see how decisively other schools conduct business in comparison. They act with conviction. Lincoln loses Saturday, contract done Sunday, in Los Angeles on Monday. LSU gets rejected by Lincoln on Sunday morning, Sunday night the deal with Brian Kelly is done, Kelly is in Baton Rouge Monday night. They're organized!!! They have plan and then a backup plan and then a backup plan to the backup plan. That's how business is done.
It just appears (maybe not reality) that Miami doesn't have their ish together. Couple that with people in the program actively trying to destroy it from within by leaking false narratives like David Epstein, and it looks like a three ring circus, perception wise. That's why I say, the longer this goes on, the worse it looks. They need to pull the trigger in the next 24 hours on the AD, terminate Manny on Saturday, and all hands on deck for Mario on Sunday with your new AD on the job. Listen to Riley and Kelly talk at their press conferences, the one word they use consistently is ALIGNMENT. Prez, AD, and the head coach. The trifecta. Miami is not close to that at the moment. They and turnkey need to make a decision now!
