OL recruiting - Elite

First, let me say that this is in no way a critique of MC An Mirabol's handling of the OL - it is the one spot that has been a consistent bright spot.

But, I was wondering about the recruitment of higher ranked OL like Mauigoa and Pancake. Are we being crystal balled or rumored to land any elite 4/5 star OL this year on the level of (at least the hype) of Pancake, etc.

No matter what, the OL is the one place where I'm not overly concerned, but just curious if we are likely to re-stock the elite OL cupboard this cycle...?

In very good early position with Pepe, Pickett, and Wise. But long ways to go.

There are areas to worry about with this staff but OL talent acquisition and development is not one of them.

Assuming Samson and Kinsler make it through Spring, those guys will join McCoy as our core in 2026, with SK and Plazz probably the two front runners to fill out the first team. I bet we hit the portal for more depth and competition though. Only McCoy graduates after next season, so we should have 4 returners in 2027. Which means we have a pretty good kickers until 2028 three seasons from now. As others note above, we’ll pick up some elite guys along the way to keep this a top 10 unit.

Lew was made a priority and we though he was gonna be a Cane but if I remember correctly, Freeling wanted to commit but we told him to hold of.

Yeah we were in on a bunch of elite linemen at the time but think we made Pancake the priority (after Mauigoa)

Yeah definitely could be true. That was a wild summer for OL. I think I shed a few tears seeing what OL would finally look like for the future
