Should have stopped at “you got me”.You got me. Our starting OL should be: Jacob Hawks, Jaden Wilkerson, Demetrius Campbell, Joel Ervin, and Jackson Cantwell. Why would we do that? Because Mario told us all “mass pushes ***”.
So he’s defying his own logic by continuing this SJ show.
Both were.Seaton wasn’t the miss, Kinsler was. But many imperfect teams have won championships. The idea that the coaches don’t know what they are doing with that lineup is a bit ludicrous to me. Cantwell obviously isn’t the answer right now, for whatever reason.
Any shot we get Meriweather rotating back in? He looked decent at guard against CMUAn OL on the bench has to step up
Yes, it can always get worse, and it usually gets exponentially worse.This. It feels like the Zaquan Patterson debate all over again.
“Our safeties suck, might as well try the young guy, he can’t be worse!”
Except he was much worse. This board certainly isn’t MORE aware of what we have and don’t have than the coaching staff.
SJ isn’t great but the “let’s just play the next guy” is just wishcasting and not based in reality.
Call the logic police on Mario then. I am not the one who made a childish argument based on a catchy rhyme Mario came up with.Should have stopped at “you got me”.
Now you just look like a douche.

But I think that's the issue. With Max injured, SJ is our best option. That means a bunch of guys we recruited with much more ideal size are worse options now, which sucks, and also means the portal OL we picked up is also a worse option. Mistakes were made and then a guy got injured. The problem is you’re talking about 2 teams who aren’t close to being good enough to make it to the playoffs. Are Clemson and FSU playoff caliber teams, no.
I don’t know the details of the personnel because I don’t watch practice every day. But I’m sure with all the linemen we have recruited in the last 4 years one of the bigger players have to be at least as good as SJ at guard. Now if that isn’t the case that’s a HUGE issue with Mario and Miribal’s evaluations and development.

Agree on all counts. it is still worth remembering SJ is just a second year player and OL units usually get better as the season goes on because they start to gel.But I think that's the issue. Looking back, Seaton was the one to put us over the top.
Luckily, Buchanan will be back by then.We didn’t look that small when Buchanan was playing RG instead of SJ.
I’m personally pretty skeptical about the OL in the post-season with SJ starting at RG but I’m not sure it changes.
We have a bunch of fantasy football GMs on this boardYou do know we tried to get him but he chose LSU. NIL was not the only part of that decision.
It’s not really skill or development with him. He’s just small for a guard and gets overpowered consistently. He’s not going to grow 5-6 inches and put on 30+ pounds. He’s a center at this level.Agree on all counts. it is still worth remembering SJ is just a second year player and OL units usually get better as the season goes on because they start to gel.
The sample size isn’t necessarily small, but Brockermyer looked lost for the first half of last season and ended up being an asset.
Would it have been a good idea to find one or two more experienced guys in the portal? Of course. But I don’t think the book is closed on SJ or the OL.
Seaton was never ours and we were never going to outbid Lane in his honeymoon year. So, no, he was not a miss. Both were.
We needed it to be Seaton/Samson/ryan/kinsler/mccoy with ben rotating in. This wasn’t the year to bet on inexperience
