OL coach option

Enos, Barry, Rumph, Stubbs, and ideally Banda should be gone.

Patke likely not going anywhere, the stryker's played reasonably well this year. ST improved in some areas specifically the punting and return game, the only defense I have for him when it comes to our kickers there is only so much you can do when guys that are brought in who are supposed to know how to kick FGs are missing extra points and are only 50% inside of 40 yards.

Who has Patke recruited? He is never mentioned. He is a waste spot. Our FG kicking was one of the worst in the country. He started Thomas at punt returner who cost us games. We gave up fake punts that cost us games. What the **** are you talking about. Patke should absolutely get fired!

The reality is we’ll hire a new OC and he will bring in his own assistants at the open positions that he worked with.

what we should do is bring in guys that have worked in a similar system under different coordinators. Guys that will tell the same story but take a different course to get to the end. That’s how you trouble shoot and make things easy.

You need guys who are willing to challenge things or offer other opinions, within the structure of the staff and going about it the right way.

Manny has a bunch of underqualified yes men and Enos was a stubborn mule with his own bobble heads. Barry didn't challenge his play calls with the Oline. Manny didn't force him to change. Everything with the old staff was in disarray.

This isn't based on information, just a suggestion. And it's possible the new OC brings along his OL coach. But if we hire a standalone guy, I hope we take a look at Allen Mogridge from FIU.

Former player and recruiting coordinator at UNC. He inherited an OL that was 86th in sack percentage. They were 5th in 2018 and 1st this year.

EDIT: Jeff Scott just hired him to USF.

It makes so much sense that it has no chance of happening.

I think Patke did a decent job this year.

Strikers were solid and special teams improved.

Not sure why he gets so much hate.

Banda can kick rocks.

You can't have a coach on staff who only coaches 1 single player and can't recruit. That's a complete waste of a resource.

I did like the improvement of the return team and punt team, although punt coverage wasn't always great. Kicking was a mess. Striker was a mess at times as well. Romeo was up and down.....seemed to play worse as season went on, Frierson is NOT a striker.

Great start!
Now Patka, Panda, and maybe Mandy saves himself.. I still think he's a lame duck and will be fired at the end of next year. Still won't have a qb worth anything.

I always find it funny how quickly people on her go off the rails and easily agitated they're. JT was the returning starter so he started him, that wasn't working so he started KJ because coaches make adjustments when things don't work. He wasn't responsible for recruiting the kickers, Baxa is from CMR. He took over Special Teams this year and they improved throughout the season because someone had to. I'm not going to try an defend his recruiting because frankly the only coach on the staff who can recruit is Fields.

Stroud isnt a bad coach only thing I dont like about him is his persistence playing patchan

Had GR15 on the bench
Our Dline could not get pressure during the time he was on the bench
Patchan got more snaps than Hill
Nesta has not improved
Garvin played bad for most of the season
GR15 carried this dline
Miller looked good when he played but barely played

Having gr15 was a mistake yes I agree. Hill didn't get here til late in the fall camp. Nesta has always been and will be a 1 trick pony u can try all u want but he will always bull rush. Garvin was bakers scheme on how he uses some ends as a spy. And miller has been solid but plays stretch runs really bad that's why he doesnt see alot of playing time

Preach on !!!! Bring #KPhome and if not go after Ron Burton at Michigan state.

But this thread is about OL Coach options, so let's bring it back to the OP.

I like OL Coach Joe Bernardi from San Jose State.

He is a controlled yet high energy guy that comes from the old school Fresno State Pat Hill tree.

Go Canes

Great pick Zoe, San Jose St has a really good offense.

That program has produced some really good coaches over the years.

What’s his background.
Current OL coach for Heupel at UCF, was with him at Mizzou as well, also coached at Ark St, OK St & Houston. He started out as a GA on Saban's LSU championship team.

Does a great job developing under rated 3-star linemen into legit starters. If you watch any UCF games their OL is always really good despite not having a single 4-star among them, a lot of that is obviously because of the high octane quick attacking system they run, but they're always a formidable rushing team as well.

Smart guy & comes from a good line of coaches.

Maybe we should call Butch and ask him who he would hire as an OC

Do we really want FIU's offense?
Manny had one shot to bring in good assistants. He blew it. Nobody worth hiring will jump on board this sunk (not sinking, sunk) ship.

would be someone who is confident he can turn offense around. You have talent. Probably best rb class in nation and a talented freshman qb that hasn’t been tainted. Talented TEs and some talent at WR. Defense will be good still.
