He talked to someone "familiar with Richt's thinking". His THINKING? Before or after he went senile? Whoever that individual is must've known Richt while at UGA, during the pre Jon era. His thinking is now skewed by Jon's employment.
Richt can't fire or demote Jon or Jon's career is OVER. If he fires Jon, nobody would hire him after his all around ****** job performance. And if Richt demotes Jon, he knows he'll NEVER be able to promote him back to QB coach without a riot.
The ONLY thing Richt can do with Jon is move him to ST coach. Then he can use the last on field spot on a QB coach/OC. Its the only way he can solve the Jon problem. Its that or he has to give up on that wet dream for good and there's no reason to think he will.
Exhibit A why nepotism isn’t allowed in public universities. But Blake was so proud of himself for getting the fired coach he let that slide.
I admit I shrugged at hiring of his son too and convinced myself that he had some “experience” with the bills so maybe he knows something.
Wish south Florida had an investigative journalist that could get some quotes about Jon Richts “job” at the bills.
Clearly now we see the job was a favor to pappy.
Only way Jon recovers his career is if Jarren Williams is a heisman finalist. If next year the offense is bad again pappy will be fired and his career is over. Hopefully he’s been saving his check and looking into a new career.
