OK, now we're rearranging deck chairs on the Richtanic(Barry Jackson article)

He talked to someone "familiar with Richt's thinking". His THINKING? Before or after he went senile? Whoever that individual is must've known Richt while at UGA, during the pre Jon era. His thinking is now skewed by Jon's employment.

Richt can't fire or demote Jon or Jon's career is OVER. If he fires Jon, nobody would hire him after his all around ****** job performance. And if Richt demotes Jon, he knows he'll NEVER be able to promote him back to QB coach without a riot.

The ONLY thing Richt can do with Jon is move him to ST coach. Then he can use the last on field spot on a QB coach/OC. Its the only way he can solve the Jon problem. Its that or he has to give up on that wet dream for good and there's no reason to think he will.

Exhibit A why nepotism isn’t allowed in public universities. But Blake was so proud of himself for getting the fired coach he let that slide.

I admit I shrugged at hiring of his son too and convinced myself that he had some “experience” with the bills so maybe he knows something.

Wish south Florida had an investigative journalist that could get some quotes about Jon Richts “job” at the bills.

Clearly now we see the job was a favor to pappy.

Only way Jon recovers his career is if Jarren Williams is a heisman finalist. If next year the offense is bad again pappy will be fired and his career is over. Hopefully he’s been saving his check and looking into a new career.

I agree. Also think Richt's "donation" was nothing more than him paying for Jon's position on staff.

I won't believe Richt will hire an OC or fire Jon until it actually happens. And until he proves me wrong, I think he'll delay hiring an OC until Bobo's fate is is known, after next season. If CSU had fired him this year, we'd already have our OC.

The sad thing is because of how bad this season was richt has lost all value as a ceo head coach.

He would have to humble himself and have a press conference admitting he was a bad OC and that his coaches (his son and the ol coach) did a poor job. I just don’t see it happening.

Even if he hired an offensive coach as a consultant, the cancer (richt) is still present.

What will likely happen is we make a marginal improvement next season and suffer no Clemson type loss and that gives Blake an excuse to keep richt another year.

Only way Blake will fire him is if he makes a lame offensive coach hire and we get destroyed by Florida and FSU, we loss to crappy coastal teams and we have the same garbage offense without rosier to blame.

Whatevs. None of this shuffling will fix things. Blake needs to go and so does Richt. Whatever idiots on the BOT that direct/oversee athletics should resign as well. Fifteen years of mediocrity.

This is good news. Moves like this usually mean HC gets fired at end of next year. Mark is not the type to make the massive changes necessary nor one with a track record of hiring top assistants. BOT doesn't have the balls to fire him right now, although it should so at least it sets the stage for early dismissal next year.

You nailed it. He gone.

You nailed it. He gone.

Is there any objective measure that could justify Jon Richt keeping his job other than being the son of the head coach?

Rosier, Weldon, Perry, or Williams (assuming poppa richt didn’t play him because he actually isn’t ready) have not developed into competent starters.

He flopped at getting a qb commit for 2019 after going after one guy across the country and investing time and money without a backup plan. No qb yet for 2020.

Poor coach and poor recruiter. So why is he still here?

Even if MR does hire an OC, I seriously doubt it will make any difference.

The guy who didn't know we needed an OC until last night, probably isn't serious enough about football to be proactive when it becomes necessary in the future... and it will become necessary when we see the sh*t show on D after Banda & Patke get a hold of it.

M.R. is all about surrounding himself with comfort, not about winning football games.

Offensive analyst will be brought in and a pr blitz will be made that we are changing to more spread. Bank on it.

Unfortunately, anything short of a new head coach will result in the program staggering around for a couple of more years until Richt is gone.

Hopefully along with a new A.D.
