Ok..Here We Go...Lofton

They gave him so many downs too like forcing the issue. Fans are desperate to see a different TE on the field. I hope he turns it around, but if he doesn’t I don’t care to see him taking meaningful snaps here again.

Yes, multiple drops where Beck hit him right in the numbers or placed perfectly in his hands.

The majority of throws to Lofton were very catchable from what I remember. Think the opposite of the passes to Chamar Brown, who had to readjust and twist and contort his body on about every pass Beck threw to him.

Would love to see him showcase consistently what he has flashed and go become a real contributor, get the Canes to the Promised Land, and make himself some $$$$$ on Sundays.
 
Reminds me of Fletcher; just needs to stay healthy and get touches.

He can be a focal-point of the offense this season.
 
The catch he made over the middle against Ole Miss before taking that shot to the chest took guts. And we needed that play to win.

On the other hand, that drop in the end zone vs. SMU lives rent free in my head.

He’s got the talent. I’m rooting for him.

Now Brown packing on some muscle and being a fullback would be a nice addition. Solid in pass pro, solid at getting 1y, can catch

Mario said that. If Lofton is healthy and in shape I think he could have a very solid and consistent year. This TE group isn't a weak group in terms of talent. It's just that they are extremely young and inexperienced. I look forward to seeing what Gilbert is able to do in his 2nd year. Gavin Meuller and Izzy Briggs are both very talented but also very young.

Don't ever mention Lofton and Fletcher in the same sentence. Fletcher was one of the main reasons Miami got to the title game.

Because it wouldn't surprise me if he's third in that TE group. Also, there are more offensive weapons on this team that are not TEs. So, it's not a stretch to assume we'll use large bodies at TE for blocking and letting the RBs/WRs get the touches.

There is nothing to get excited about regarding Lofton besides green tree propaganda.

I don't see how we can use the TEs less in the passing game thna we did last season. I think the WRs will open thiongs up for Lofton/other TEs.
