Agree completely. There is some progress to be fair: Lashlee took a trashy offense and has made it average. Our kicking game has improved a ton over the past 2 years. Outside of that, no.

The one good team we have played on our schedule this year abused us. We beat the worst FSU team I have ever seen in 34 years of watching (and actually remembering), UAB, a 1-3 UVA team coming in, a 2-4 Louisville team, and a 3-4 Pitt team (Charlie Partridge and those defensive lines, Bro). Our offensive and defensive rankings are laughably inflated playing who we typically play.

We've played one team this year worth a crap this year so far. I guess it just depends on what makes one happy: maintaining such a low standard (like winning 2nd place in a race of four people type of thing; Or participation trophy level of happiness. Kind of like highly functioning autism type of stuff) or seeing what it is and what it could be (or has been).

I’ll try to paraphrase. I don’t think 1 is a trash can like you’re making him out but I still think he can play better. I pointed out a lot of missed reads that still happened to be completions as well. The oline is bad, Zion is pretty **** good. Think we’ll be okay in a year or two.. Chaney should be the starting RB. Will should lead the team in targets. We really don’t disagree on much in this one. I think you’re being a little extreme but not offbase

Who says he’s not going to run? Last time I checked Shane Buechele can run and dies zone read as well. So did Joe Burrow, etc etc. Being an athlete and being an actual QB aren’t mutually exclusive anymore.

A. the competition we've played has certainly improved. FSU has shown to be just god awful as a team which is what we knew. Lville is what they are -- pretty bad too.
B. tonight was an ugly win. thats all it was. an ugly win but a win ill take rather than being annoyed at a loss.
C. we've actually gone into shells after deflating losses nearly every year going back a decade pretty much. a key for this team was to rebound quickly and not have a big loss spiral your season (we lost 4 straight after the blocked XP against FSU, lost 4 straight after the loss to Pitt, lost what 5 straight after the FSU win w perry, and finished 6-7 last year). one of the smallest things they could've done was actually stay focused. so far, ugly or not, they've come out with two wins and hopefully we can get Brevin, Flagg, X, and Redding back healthy for NCSU.
D. this mentality is what it is --- stop thinking that were the same team thats going into competing for titles. WE WILL NEVER BE ALABAMA or even the 80s canes again. what we can be is a good team that contends for the conference yearly and gets in the playoffs maybe makes a surprise run at a title w the way the landscape is in college football. there are only 3 teams that have consistently competed for playoffs spots and those 3 happen to be the best 3 teams by far in CFB (OSU, CLEM, BAMA). those are also three of the biggest programs around. my hope is we get that LSU run from last year. a magical QB performance for the ages that covers up any flaws you have (LSUs D certainly wasnt dominant (gave up 500 plus three times), but the O was elite and D made enough plays to win games)
E. this type of W cant happen again. NCSU has to be better. you can have an ugly W (this was the one game we weren't comfortably winning really esp where you dont turn it over (see pitt)). this is a one and done. its on the coaches and players to actually use this as an example and improve upon it. NCSU in 2 weeks will tell us a lot about how this team does really improve from before.

he hasn't really pulled that read once all year. he didnt do it vs UAB and didnt do it tonight. there's an explanation for it somewhere. hopefully someone asks lashlee about it this week

I’m not saying he’s isn’t either. I’m saying he was never a fit. How do you bring in a QB like that but he constantly misses his reads and won’t keep it? What’s the point of having a Dual threat QB then? Just to say you have one?
 
Steed played good. We missed 11 and that’s nuts to say, we couldn’t even get lined up and he as a true freshman is the best at making sure we are. 23 is a **** good cover corner. Bolden can’t ever play man in any situation he doesn’t have the feet for it. Blades is regressing while Ivey is getting better Jesus Christ look at that sentence.

I don’t think it works that way bro. If it’s called as a run for the RB each time he can’t keep it. Just cause it looks like he is optioning does not mean it’s not just an inside zone and not a zone read.

Other than that if I see one more soft off zone I’m driving down to Miami Gardens, ripping the head set off Baker and threatening Diaz to start calling the D again. I’m so tired of that uninspired, lazy coverage. They’re literally too busy talking **** to get set! What is that?!?. While I’m on the topic of laziness, when is Diaz going to lose it on one of these refs with these holding call? Does the OL need to put us in a rear naked choke to get a call. Lose it! Show some ******* fire! Show that you care about your players being ****ed over and over again! Like what kind of football coach are you? You’re supposed to be a leader, not some flappy ***** sending in a strongly worded letter. Go watch Saban or Dabo react when they don’t get a call. Those ******* men are leaders. Not this lazy ***** **** I keep seeing every week. Manny doesn’t even take responsibility about his team’s own laziness. How do you let your team play like that and act all non Chalant about it?

It’s a survival thing. What sort of offense would we have if he couldn’t move the way he does? Yeah he’s missing reads but it lives and dies with him literally

So what in your mind thinks that an OC that has a QB that legitimately runs 4.5 is going to him NOT to pull it on a zone read? Why’d you bring him here then?
