Officially Pursuing Grad Transfer Tyree Jackson

Unless Cam is pounding him in the butt there’s no Cam in this dude.

He’s a decent player who had a couple good WRs and played horrible competition. He’s produced more than our guys, but if all you’re looking at is numbers, then I’d bet Malik’s junior numbers were fairly close to this dude. I’ve watched him play. He’s ok. He’s no slam dunk.

You guys can’t sit here and roast Rick unmercifully for his horrible offense and his QB coach for being retarded and then turn around and assume our QBs are terrible. They might be terrible just like all the idiots on here thought our defensive players were horrible when Doritos was here.

I’d like to see what our QBs can do with even remotely good coaching and play calling that helps them succeed.

Go ahead and bring this guy in. I don’t hate him. He’s decent. But I wouldn’t expect him to suddenly get accurate and quit making terrible decisions under duress or choking.

If he posted the numbers he had this year as the QB on our team we are at worst 10-2 and playing in a New Year’s Day bowl. I would venture to say 11-1.. Let’s not over analyze his numbers and ability.

This kid would be the best QB at The U since Dorsey. It wouldnt be close. Which isnt saying much I know

Has anyone ever asked why Richt would not give Jarren some experience and put him in even with the new transfer room.Surely he is better than the two guys he continually ran out there.
Or is he NOT better than them and was Richt hiding him from the fanbase not wanting to let them know he and Jon had failed on another evaluation?

Something didn’t make sense in all of this especially his not playing in the bowl game with absolutely nothing to lose.

You have any ideas.

Not D money, but your question very valid about Jarren, having seen him several times in HS kid physically better in all areas than Malek and way better at reading coverage in HS than Kosi two years in system.

Got to believe he was suspended latter part of year to not play those last few games when RS not in play. CMR not playing him with job on line had to be something not publicized yet.

Just a very peculiar situation.Havent seen Cade play but from what I’ve seen of Perry he could transfer out tomorrow and we go to the wildcat and I’d be just as happy.
Kid is/was/and continues to be waaaay overhyped from what Ive seen.

In addition to the physical tools, Jackson was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Buffalo won ten games. It's not all projection with him. He's already had success and still has untapped potential.

I prefer a more accurate passer but this guy can cause problems. According to PFF, he was the most productive downfield passer in college football last year. His arm with our speed can back the safeties up for our highly recruited tailbacks to operate.
This.

Nice post Chise.

By the way, I spoke to someone who would know about Tyree a few days ago. Miami is confident.

It all depends on the OC and staff mane.

The kid is much more talented than Rosier. It's not even close. Last year Rosier had Herndon, Thomas, Berrios, and AR. Jackson has better numbers than Rosier did also. Jackson hasn't proven Newton levels. He does have that potential. He's a freak.

I've watched 3 games he's played. He makes mistakes and is inaccurate. That may or may not improve. We've seen Cam regress without Dorsey as his coach with accuracy. That's been his fault also. Regardless, It's still much better than what we've seen. Even if the kid is one read and run, like Perry, at least he can run. I'm still in the boat that Jarren is the answer and have been since the spring.

Game cut-up against Temple:

Some good stuff and some really bad. Looks like he’s good with the short over the middle stuff but not great on the deep ball. Comparison to Rosier actually looks to be pretty accurate.

FWIW - in an injury shortened 2017 season, he was a 60% passer with a 4:1 TD:INT.

Again, accuracy is an pretty important issue, but he's not devoid of it.

I'm going beat this dead horse again- the #1 most important trait in a qb is accuracy. It's great if he can chuck it 60 yards, but if he is hitting the rent a cop watching the stands in the back of the head, it doesn't do much good. Here is the list of the most accurate JUCO players available to play immediately.

Messiah DeWeaver, JUCO kid at East Mississippi CC, 6'5" 230 lbs, 68% completion (JUCO stats)

Kare Lyles, 6'2" 210 lbs, 70% completion (HS career), 63.5% completion (JUCO)

Tylan Morton, Hinds CC (from GA though so Rick connection) 6'4", 200 lbs, 66.7% completion (HS stats), set Georgia single season record for passing in 2016 (4741 yards). Academics seems to be his issue.

I'd try to get DeWeaver and/or Morton. If the competition makes Williams transfer, then he's mentally weak and I dont want him. Perry is gone anyways. Need 2.

My only worry is he doesn’t seem take ever look past his first read. Not that we’ve had a QB that does in a long time, but still competition is always a good thing.

I had the same question. I guess we can ask the same thing about the WR we were putting on the field. Could have been coming from the top down, or just played favorites.

Hard to see a potential nfl draft pick going anywhere he isn’t promised a job. And there are plenty of qb needy teams. Jarren Williams is a next level talent , I’m not even going to risk losing him over a chance of a qb being here for what 10 months by guaranteeing him a job if he came here? Diaz is not that type of guy and competition is supreme with him. Tyree jackson will go somewhere where before hand he know he will start immediately imo

Again he had tools for sure but his play can come uneven a lot of times. Better than rosier but what does that even mean? Not much now adays
