Officially Pursuing Grad Transfer Tyree Jackson

24 INTs in three seasons is sketchy but we need help at QB. If he's the best we can do for a grad transfer then so be it.

Yes, and we won 10 games and the Coastal that season with that level of production.

The entire offensive staff that made Malik regress is gone. Every returning QB is either unknown or a walking suspension.

You take Tyree all day.
Winning the coastal is not an accomplishment to brag about. It's like the dolphins winning the AFC east. That holds 0 weight.

True, the Duke Blue Devils are basically the Patriots of the ACC. A true dynasty.

I see Byron Leftwich, but less accurate. He's a pure pocket passer who doesn't run unless he has to.

He might just have THE slowest release I've ever seen. That is partially offset by the fact he has a cannon for an arm.

He's interesting, but I don't think he's a slam dunk. I'd still kick the tires on Frenchy before making a final decision.

Bottom line no harm in bringing him in, worst case it strengthens the depth chart.

Byron Leftwich and Logan Thomas were huge and solidly built. This kid is considerably more loosey goosey in the upper body and how he moves around. Maybe it is not as obvious in highlights compared to watching full games.

I don't mind signing him but just be prepared for all the stupid decisions and wild fluctuation from one possession to the next. You never know what you're going to get from this guy.

Whoever the 3 OC finalists are must be aware of this move and likely others so as not to delay and lose to other teams.
I've seen enough of Kosi on and off the field to question his skill & determination to be UM caliber under a new HC. He'll be given his chance as will Jarren BUT we need bodies that show desire AND skill...go get em Coach! Now we need a better OL!

If the kid was a finished product, he'd be in the draft. The current QBs have done NOTHING to convince me that any of them are capable of even being average starters. If Williams or Perry are good enough, they'll beat him out for the starting spot. I know Jackson isn't looking to transfer here to be a back up but no coach is guaranteeing a starting spot to any transfer. All Diaz has to say is. "Look at our current roster, we'll give you a shot to compete against these guys." If Jackson feels he can't beat out the current guys (lol) then he'll go somewhere else.

Fans need to stop with the idiotic idea of throwing a guy our there who gives you no chance to win just to get him experience. This isn't the NFL where you can sacrifice a whole season or two giving your rookie QB "experience ". That dude will likely be with your team for a decade or more if he plans out. In college, you've got four years. Can't waste them losing games. Now if you're halfway through the season and your team is in the toilet, then go for it. But to start the year with the idea of sacrificing wins for QB experience is horrible. Clearly, Diaz has seen enough of Perry, Weldon and William's in practice to make him actively shop for a grad transfer QB.

A grad transfer is not coming to back up anyone. You are living in dreamland. Your boy Jackson is a 55% passer playing in the MAC. Can't understand why you think he's some savior. Like I said, I'm not giving up on anyone with 3+ years of eligibility. Fans are complete idiots when it comes to that. See a guy play for a few games and then you're ready to write off his future as though you and others are some expert prognosticators.

We have the players. We just need better plays and better coaching. WRs not dropping a ton of passes might help as well ya think?

First of all let's get one thing straight.Jackson AIN'T my boy.If you go back and read my post I said WHETHER IT'S JACKSON OR WHOEVER ELSE THEY MIGHT BRING IN.I could care less who they bring in but they need to bring in someone.I doubt whoever the OC turns out to be will guarantee the starting job to ANYONE.it will be up to the person to compete and take the job from Williams.
And if you're good with this QB room we have here you are the only one including any OC that get's hired. We WILL NOT be going into next season with two QB's that have never played a down one of which loves weed as much or more that football and another kid who in limited duty has looked mediocre at best who also can't seem to stay out of trouble.
As I said in my original post ( which you seem to be unable to comprehend) we need to bring someone in to compete that has some kind of experience. We can't go in with what we have on the roster.

Maybe he wont set the world on fire but if he can help us get to 10 wins and the Coastal, bring him in. Maybe he's mature and a leader enough to get Cade and Perry's heads out of their butts.

He's much more athletic than Leftwich. He had a 55-year run this year and a 75-yard run last year. He doesn't have a physical, running mentality but he has speed.

My comparison would be Paxton Lynch. Buffalo really tried to develop him as a pocket QB, but I would use more designed QB movement with him. He is very athletic.

I didn't watch a big enough sample size to see the athleticism, in most of what I saw he looked like a guy that liked to hang in the pocket. I have zero issue with that type of QB but people on here acting like he'sTebow or the kid from Texas are nuts.

Talk to me about his throwing motion. It's elongated as all **** and he tends to throw behind receivers a lot. He's got that full blown Leftwich wind up which could really be an issue given our O-line hasn't actually been stellar protecting the edges.

I just don't see an elite prospect. As I've already said a few times......Frenchy is a MUCH better player right now.

Not worth risking transfers for a good arm talent but really low ceiling as he can make some BAD decisions that are mind boggling on the field . Rather start a young guy(Jarren) and have him grow with the receivers

But with that being said he does a really good arm and can run. Just not very accurate
Accuracy and decision making can be improved with proper coaching. Don't know if we have it yet, but its possible.

As long as this doesn't push Jarren away, I'm ok with it. We need the depth.

See I agree With that point l. But if trying to take him does push him away then there is no chance I personally would do it
