*Official WHAT WE NEED TO GET INTO PLAYOFFS THREAD*

I agree we beat Clemson we're in but just to help our chances we want:

Wisky win out - elimintes taint
Bama win out - eliminated Auburn and UGA

Okie to lose?

Wisky doesn't even need to win out. Just beat taint. If they lose this week then we would stay above them and they'd more likely be out because we have a better schedule.

1. Beat Clemson
2. Bama to Win Out (Otherwise 2 SEC teams will get in)
3. Wisconsin to win out (Otherwise OSU is still in play)
4. OU to win out (This one doesn't matter as much cause I think the committee would leave out the BIG 12 vs. ACC)

Rankings:
1. Bama
2. Wisconsin
3. OU
4. Miami

Scenario 2 - We lose to Clemson - Hello Orange Bowl

Scenario 3 - We beat Clemson but AUB beats Bama

Team 1 - Wisconsin (Wins Out)
Team 2 - OU (Wins Out)
Team 3 - SEC Champion (UGA or AUB)
Team 4 - 1 Loss Bama or ACC Champ Miami...

Scenario 4 - We Beat Clemson, AUB beats Bama, OSU beats Wisc, OU wins out

Team 1 - SEC Champ (AUB or UGA)
Team 2 - OU
Team 3 - Miami
Team 4 - 1 Loss Bama or 2 Loss OSU or 2 Loss USC

Gunna get interesting...

Ideal would be Wisconsin loses this week, and then beats OSU next week. Wisky wouldn't get in ahead of us then and OSU would be out.

Beat Clemson, and an Alabama loss would be assuring. Losses by Oklahoma and Wisconsin are helpful but ultimately worthless if you lose
to Clemson now that we loss.

If Bama doesn't win vs Auburn they get in over us unless Auburn blows them out. Bama winning out is ideal because then only 1 sec team gets in.

You are mistaken....Pitt is NOT a bad team have lost 3 or 4 very close games. They were ready to play & we weren't

It depends on how far we drop. If it's no worse than 6th, then beating beating the Fighting Dabo's might get us in. Lower than 6th and we'll need some help. Make no mistake, this was a bad loss to a bad Pitt team that is not even bowl eligible on national TV to a freshman QB. We won't know the true impact of this loss until all the games are played this weekend. If nothing else, we lost our ability to control our own destiny. This sucks.

FiveThirtyEight has a live projection board. You can play out different scenarios.

Miami beats Clemson, 87% chance
add Alabama winning out, we move to 93% chance. Alabama loses to auburn we drop to 80%. That’s the key individual game.

everything else only adds a couple points here or there on an individual basis. Of course a few good results in combo would further help

I think we still control our destiny, but Bama winning out and Clemson winning this weekend will help tremendously

1 loss Miami or 1 loss Clemson will be in the playoff.

There's no other path. Win and in, lose and out (Unless some real wild **** goes down tomorrow and next week).

Yup. Beat Clemson and hope Alabama wins out.

Look, I think an 11-1 Miami team with an ACC title ABSOLUTELY DESERVES a spot, but the committee will send an 11-1 Alabama in over us. No question in my mind. For two weeks... (pukes inside) roll tide.

It sucks. But it's better than the yearly ACC Coastal scenario thread.
Ha so true.

I don’t miss the days of losing huge games in October and trying to figure out how we back into the Coastal.

1 Loss ACC Champ should get in. Should. Not sure how, but should.

Easily Pac 12 champ is out.. only thing we managed to do was give the SEC the chance to get two in if OSU beats Wisconsin

Picked the worst time to lose

I beg to differ. We play in this same scenario with weather, crowd, being away next week in the ACCCG. This team has played well being doubted. Does it make sense, no, but that’s been this team. We were on a crash course to take a L next week if we snuck by today. Now maybe, just maybe, they will wake up and play ball.

We win, Playoffs or Orange Bowl.

We lose, Orange Bowl.

There's literally no scenario where an 11-1 ACC champion gets left out of the Playoff.

We've just ruined the ACC's shot at having two teams in, and we've opened the door for a 2 loss team into the dance.

We for sure will drop more than 6. I’m thinking close to 10. Look at ND - didn’t they lose 7-8 spots when they lost to us?
