Golden has lost all credibility by interviewing for the PSU job & if he stayed he would at a disadvantage in recruiting the following year because recruits & their families couldn't trust him....... Imho

Al Golden is a .500 coach and he's acting like he's freakin' Nick Saban. Let him go to Penn State, let them pay him $4-5 mil. a year as long as he takes D'Noforio w/ him...I'm over the Golden Era at this point

He didn't do that the last time the job was open. He immediately pulled his name from consideration then. It's different this time imho

Penn St. insiders said he was never offered or even considered for the job last time. They wanted to get out of the "boy touching" business and hire someone from outside of the family. Now they want that culture back. That leads them to their man Al Golden.

That doesn't make sense. If you respect your Alma Mater, you tell them from the get-go that you're not interested and wish them the best (heck, even offer to help them find a coach if you want). The most disrespectful thing to do is have them fly down to Miami, waste their time and resources, just to turn them down.
 
The damage has been dealt. Bridges are burnt. Alumni are NOT happy with this....good riddance. Golden is 1-8 against teams with more than 8 wins at miami. This is miami, bye and don't let the door hit you. I'm tired of getting blown out against decent teams.
 
Don't want this bum after doing this 1 month from recruiting signing day. Bye and don't let the door hit your big fat ***. LOL Trust the process what a joke.

donna reads emails. she personally replied to me twice. once after her asst. said she probably wouldnt. flood with butch emails. he is a miami guy, he will find the right coaches and he can save this call by telling these kids , "you wanna play in nfl, look at my track record."
 
Why do you say he is old......he is 62...... Same as Saban......and several other coaches, ****, Dantonio had a **** heart attack about two years ago. Butch can handle this....it's not like he has to travel far to recruit
 
Even if he stays, some won't forgive him for taking him this long to reject PSU offer. He is most likely gone. Although there is a slim chance he is torn between finishing the job he set out to do here and landing his dream job.
The risk he is taking, and him being a smart dude I am thinking this crossed his mind, if he left Miami before winning anything meaningful (basically not finishing the job he promised to do) followed by a mediocre job at PSU then his head coaching career is over.
 
I was rustled for a quick minute yesterday. After thinking it through, this is the best thing to happen. One step back, two steps forward.
