Agreed... Here's the problem... Golden assumed that since he turned around Temple with Doritos read-and-react defense he could do the same with Miami. That's not how Miami plays ball. I think Golden realizes that now and would feel more comfortable going up north.

He did not want to force Doritos to change. If anything Al's stubbornness to change (his JoePa/Big 10/UVa philosophy; his read and react defense; and fire or reassign his best friend/DC) did him in at Miami.

Courtel Jenkins is a beast and will likely be Golden's Olson Pierre for this move. I hope we can keep Jenkins but he's a northeast kid who committed to the dorito-golden tag team.
 
Why stay here the fan base is and absolute joke and the more and more i read people have no clue i have actually heard golden compared torandy shannon who was the worst thing to ever happen to miami football set the program back 20 years

If Blake James has any gonads he pulls a power play on fatso if fatso comes waddling back into town after getting rejected by PUS acting like nothing happened. Blake should immediately fire Duh'. Let's see what fatso does at that point.
 
He goes from having a three-year pass here, which just ended, to the beginning of another three-year or so pass at his alma-mater. Too fn easy. Peace out chubbs.

The freakin guy is the only HC in college football to wear a dress shirt and tie on the sidelines....in 100 degree heat mind you. Dead giveaway.

We've had two HC's who not only wore ties but jackets, too. They also smoked pipes...all in the same 100 degree heat. Both were very successful. You probably wouldn't even know who they were.

Happy Valley sucks....it's in the middle of nowhere.

It's closer to Philly than it is Pittsburgh....and trust me.....no one in Philly really gives two craps about Penn St. You would think that they have never even heard of college football in Philly....if you spent any time there, you know what I'm talking about.

There seem to be a lot of similarities to this. Although many thought Haith was culpable for some infractions, most looked at this as addition by subtraction, because he wasn't a very good gameday coach.
Coach L quickly showed what a real BBall coach could do with limited talent. I'm hoping they make another hire like that.
Cutcliffe would be a similar type hire, but CFB is more dependent on recruiting and I don't know how he rates in that area. Still, an outstanding coach almost recruits itself.

I don't think Cutcliffe would come here, but I'd love getting him. We need a coach. An X's and O's guy who can identify talented kids and teach them how to play. UM is in the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. We don't need a salesman that can convince kids to go to UM. Win and they will be clamoring to get in. It's an easy sell. They only trait above and beyond being a teacher of football and gameday coach that's critical for the UM job is our guy needs to be able to deal with the political bull**** that goes on during S. Fla recruiting with extreme tact. I think Al has been decent at this, but even he managed to **** people off. It's the most diffficult part of coaching football at UM.

That's it precisely. Guys make it sound like Golden is some miracle worker as a recruiter. Any competent recruiter/evaluator can clean up down here just on location alone. Golden hasn't really done that great of a job in recruiting or evaluating, and the putrid product he puts on the field offsets any recruiting advantage he might have over a lesser recruiter who can actually coach up a good product.

At the end of the day, if you continue to field a historically bad product 3 years in your recruiting acumen is null and void.

You wanna interview for another job ? Cool...but we're firing your fat *** piece of garbage coordinator regardless.
