Too late for fans, recruits (who can't get ahold of him), etc. ****, it sounds like no one at UM can even get in touch with him. Bad taste in all our mouths. This will never end will for Al at UM. Way past that point.

It would've been better to say "I'm staying" then bolt than to just ignore everyone and everything. One way he looks like a liar if he leaves -- nothing new for coaches. The other way -- the way he's doing it -- makes him look like a coward.

I'm not happy with this either way. Silence is "golden". He probably gets offered but 5050 he stays.

My uneducated guess says nothing til Sunday. Then official deuces from the fat man himself on Monday.

This^^^^^ I know we live in the era of instant gratification, but there is nothing ridiculous about everybody waiting a weekend to find out what Golden is going to do. If he drags this out two weeks it would be milking it, but for Golden to keep his thoughts between himself and his family is normal if he's truly considering taking the PSU job. We should know by Sunday. If he's staying it wont hurt the recruiting class for him to take that long. If he's leaving the recruiting class will be sacked anyway. How bad it's sacked will depend on who is hired and how quickly.
 
Al better hope he gets offered. if he doesn't there wont be a great deal of support from the miami community. He'll try to spin that he interviewed out of courtesy but anyone with a brain will see through that.

The rumors between Al Golden and Penn State are swirling.
The following is the situation with Golden and Penn State as InsideTheU.com understands them.
* Golden is a top two candidate for the Penn State job along with James Franklin.
* Golden has had talks with Penn State, but has not met in person with the PSU administration. Those in person meetings will likely occur either Saturday or Sunday.
* As of Friday night, Golden had not been officially offered the Penn State job.
* Golden was in the Hecht Athletic Center on Friday.
* The UM assistants are in the dark on the situation with Golden and Penn State. They are in wait and see mode in regards to Golden and Miami.
* It is believed that if Golden were to be offered the Penn State job, he would accept that opportunity.

Bottom line is this..... Coach golden feels guilty.... He doesn't want to tell recruits or players that he is staying like bill obrien did and then turn around to leave anyways.... This is exactly the reason he is avoiding contact with recruits and players.... The damage has been done, I think he lost trust with our players with these antics. A "family" doesn't do those type of things..... Another thing to be on the lookout is that miami could also be contacting other coaches but think about it golden knows they aren't going to fire him because they would be on the hook for his buyout clause. This is why miami officials chris yandle said he is still our coach...

If I'm Golden and I have the opportunity to go to PSU, I'd take it. If he stays at UM, he is under tremendous pressure to make staff changes, including dumping his buddy, and has to deliver next season. He gets at least a three-year reboot at PSU.

For all those mad at Golden for not saying anything, how many of you were mad at Butch for saying he was staying then going? The other option would be to openly say he is considering the PSU job, but that doesn't achieve anything positive. At this point the damage has been done and I would like him gone, but if he is to stay, staying quiet right now is the allows him to not lie. One can argue that lying might be the best for the good of the program (at least publicly) and maybe it is, but once he decided he wanted to consider PSU, I understand his staying quiet.

Yep 3yr at Ped state whit basically no expectations, and making more money
