They better be on top of things and putting out feelers right away.

If we have no coach when the dead period ends we are ***ked.

Coley will be the interim HC and will hold **** together with Hurlie and Barrow until Petrino or Butch signs a contract.

Dude you are too realistic to think Petrino has any shot. I would love Butch but I dont see that happening either. I thik C4L hit it on the head. People are gonna be ****ed if we have to hire a new coach. Lord help us

I'm not a mope, and I refuse to get sucked into the Mope4Life vortex. That dude would find a way to shoot a blank in a wet dream. There are enough guys on here who put a negative spin on anything associated with UM. I'm a rational guy, and I see absolutely no reason why we can't hire a guy who cheated on his wife. Some of you guys act like he raped kids in the locker room.

He cheated on his fcking wife, which is something probably most of the Board at UM has done. Enough time has passed for all the gas bags who felt like they had to act like it was a big deal to now let him redeem himself on a big stage. It's time for redemption.

He also lied about cheating, drove his motorcycle off the road and then fled the scene. lol. I would love Petrino because he is a stud. But until the troll leaves I see no reason she would even come close to hiring him.

Regardless of who is hired, we need a QB for the long term and someone who can develop them. Cross fingers Olsen puts the gonja down and quits ******* Pete's girl friend.

**** it, my body is ready.

oh my. this one made me laugh.

I am stubborn and I just won't get Butch Davis out of my mind. If not him go hard for Charlie strong. Pay the man the money he wants. I don't believe he gets the Texas gig because he's black (being flat out honest) and cause he knows his bread and butter is S.fla recruiting and he just simply can't do that at Texas. He wants to build a great program in Florida. Yes, Florida is his "dream job" but IMO at the rate that they have sank we are in a better position to be competitive NOW!

It isn't just the affair that is going to keep potential employers away. It's that he hired the chick he was banging to be part of the Arkansas staff, and that he has a lengthy history as a job-hopper, sometimes giving his employer no notice. Dude's not exactly big on being an ethical employee. I know that won't stop UM fans from wishing he was here, but it should be easy to understand why UM or any other school would be more than a little hesitant.

I am sure coaches are calling into the U now.

LMAO, yeah, just like they were when we canned Randy right??

People VASTLY overestimate the attractiveness of this job. This is NOT an attractive job. It pays cr@p, the fan base sucks, and were going to be on NCAA probation.

Not sure why people havent learned after the last two "hiring processes" that we arent getting some big name coach. The guys calling here may be agents for the coach at NIU, Cristobal, and some NFL coordinators.

Think about this, there were College coordinators who pretty much laughed at us last time.

No, it is people like you that are so negative that VASTLY underrate the head coaching position at the University of Miami. It is a top 10 job in the country and any coach that is smart can see that. The football program sits in the greatest wealth of high school talent in the country. A coach that knows what they are doing can come to Miami and win multiple titles by harnessing this talent and cherry picking from around the country. Furthermore, if a coach is worried about a fanbase, then he probably sucks *** anyway.

Not only that, Miami has a unique quality in the bond between former players and the university. And Miami has a certain mystique about it. Miami is different than any other football program... The Alabamas, Michigans, Nebraskas, etc... of college football are great programs and can dominate at times but they are your old, stuffy traditional style programs. When Miami is dominant, they are badasses that strike fear into the opponents and scare the **** out of the traditional powers. No other program has that quality. Sure, Miami is down right now and the mystique lays dormant, but all it takes is the right coach to come along wake up the sleeping giant.

Finally, why the obsession with hiring a "big name" coach??? Why not be obsessed with hiring the best coach possible? I don't care if the coach comes from NIU or Arkansas State, the only thing that matters is if they are best coach for Miami.

I think that Al probably listens to what Penn State has to offer tomorrow, then gives Miami chance to match out of respect, but no inside information on such. Just my 2 cents.
I think he's pretty much gone. Rumors are swirling and he's said nothing. Recruits are wondering what's going on and silence.

IMO, I think Golden just soured on the job. A lot has happened from when he was hired that I wouldn't blame him for souring. At the same time, he brought a few things on himself. I just don't think he was a good fit for the Miami program. His whole philosophy just doesn't jive with Miami football. I do think he will be successful at PSU. He may not win a championship, but he will get them 10+ wins regularly. He knows the landscape and can recruit the North East with the best of them.

Sometimes coaches just aren't the right fit. I think its safe to say Golden wasn't the right fit for Miami, whether he stays or goes.

Kinda like you repeatedly saying Art Briles to UT? Lol...you just making **** up. But ****, who isn't?

We have had four years of turmoil! Al has been a steadfast captain of the ship that has all sorts of characters including our fan base, local coaches, drama queen recruits, and universal hate for the u! I hope al stays bc the drama and headache this last four years has been unbearable. Al has been a wonderful hire and handled NCAA issues perfectly while the program was on brink of extinction. I personally would be turned off by another head coach search, possible meltdown in recruiting class and trolls/idiotic posters. I have no idea what will happen but I do know this circus is more than I can handle.

It has been reported in the press that both Petrino and Butch mentioned they would be interested if Golden left, so it isn't just me saying it.

Of course they would. Despite all of the negatives associated with the position, it's a job where you will always have access to talent - and if you implement the proper coaching you will succeed. I believe it was DMoney or someone else who claimed it's the #1 job in regard to recruiting in all of college football. If recruiting is indeed the lifeblood of football, Miami will always be a good (perhaps not great or elite) job.

This is why I'd take just about anyone over Golden at this point. The guy absolutely brings nothing to the table as a Gameday coach. Zero. A good recruiter, but has no clue how to utilize it. He has shown zero ability to make adjustments and his philosophy mixed with the south Florida athletes is not a match.

Do people really expect this guy to change his philosophy? Do you really think he'll abandon Dorotio? LAWLZ. This ****** walks around with a binder full or principles and core values, but we expect him to change all at the drop of the hat?

I laff laff laff when I see idiots like C4L dropping names like Curtis Johnson, Mario Cristobal, Tim Deruyter, Rod Carey and saying we're eternally ****ed. At this point, Al Golden long-term is a death sentence.

You guys really want to ***** about losing a recruiting class if we lose Al? You'll be tearing your hair out when we have more linebackers is lining up against WR's and we're harnessing the natural aggression on the defensive front.

Might also feel he lost the team, once that happens there is no recovery

Amen. Time to say our goodbyes and hope Donna doesn't go 0 for the last 4. What's the line? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Dumb luck has got to be in our favor at this point.

I was on the side of the fence who wanted to keep him to sacrifice tje recruiting class but after seeing the flirting he has done and thinking back to how out of position the defense was all year, I'm now like whatever. I personally don't like our defense or offensive philosophy.

That's all true but unfortunately the rest of the coaching fraternity doesn't agree with you, as evidenced by the previous 3 head coaching searches.

Yet we ended up with Randy Shannon and Temple's head coach as our last two hires.
