They better be on top of things and putting out feelers right away.

If we have no coach when the dead period ends we are ***ked.

I am sure coaches are calling into the U now.

LMAO, yeah, just like they were when we canned Randy right??

People VASTLY overestimate the attractiveness of this job. This is NOT an attractive job. It pays cr@p, the fan base sucks, and were going to be on NCAA probation.

Not sure why people havent learned after the last two "hiring processes" that we arent getting some big name coach. The guys calling here may be agents for the coach at NIU, Cristobal, and some NFL coordinators.

Think about this, there were College coordinators who pretty much laughed at us last time.

It has been reported in the press that both Petrino and Butch mentioned they would be interested if Golden left, so it isn't just me saying it.

I know Butch has mentioned he would like to come back, but where exactly did Petrino say he was interested in the job?

Dumbass troll, Petrino is at WKU making $850K per year. **** right he'd want this job. He'd ride his Harley through a wood chipper to get here.

OK. We are officially coachless. Let's face it at this point. May be a blessing in disguise.

C4L, you keep laughing at the Butch comments, which I'm with you on. And you keep pegging Cristobal.

I'd like your opinion on Chud. The timing can't be better. No NFL team is going to touch a guy that just got canned by Cleveland. He will not take a coordinator position immediately. So what's left? All the other big boys in CFB are naming Strong, Saban, Broyles, Sumlin, etc. Miami would make sense, no? Ties to the program, well respected from what we know, etc. Just seems like good timing.

Would be an A hire imo.
I actually hope Dolphins hire Chud. I think they run Sherman outta town before weekend is over. I would bet he coaches in NFL this year. I think we get some piece of crap. Have we ever hired a proven winner? I'm not pulling for it but I think we get Cristobal. Even tho he ****ed people off I don't think he burned bridges.

I think that Al probably listens to what Penn State has to offer tomorrow, then gives Miami chance to match out of respect, but no inside information on such. Just my 2 cents.

I would love Stoops from Kentucky. With the right $, I think we would have a great shot at him.

I HIGHLY doubt we lose many recruits over this. MAYBE Valentine, Kayaa (which is a big one) and maybe Yearby (if Coley leaves)....not sure on the Jersey boys. If we were to get a Petrino in, he'd have a QB on campus in a NY minute.......so that would soften the Kayaa blow.

I'd tell Al he can suck my ****. This is a fireable offense.

I think anything at this point will be better than Golden, even Cristobol. Cristobol will most likely keep the coordinators with good so florida ties and than bring in a new DC and hopefully Kevin Patrick as Dline coach. Plus he would be quick to hire to save the recruiting class. Realistically I don't see Miami getting a "home-run" hire and maybe if we are lucky there will be some kids that will follow Cristobol from Bama.

I don't understand how him leaving isn't considered good news.

He is a fraud and wasn't going to win a **** thing unless he stacked the roster to ridiculous levels. With that contract extension he signed we'd be in a terrible situation very soon.

Maybe short term this hurts but long term this is a huge positive if the AD makes a good hire.

Is this what you would call a good hire?

we wouldn't downgrade that's for sure. Golden's resume before coming here wasn't any better. He'd probably recruit SF better too.

Malzahn stayed one year at Arkansas State then got an offer to coach for Auburn - if Petrino is so good, why hasn't any other school offered him?

I realize no one wants to hear this right now but you are 100% correct. After the champagne hangover from Golden leaving wears off we are going to be left with the realization that recruits will bolt and the administration is going to give us yet another uninspiring hire.

After 117 pages I have seen Butch, Petrino, Coley, Mario and others, but no mention of the one with a lot of experience and a true Cane; I give you Kehoe.

Don't see it that way. If you making 2.1M and someone offers you 3.5Mil (what O'Brien is getting paid), wouldn't you think it would be the honorable thing to do is to go back to your current employer and offer to stay if matched? Business wise, if you were offered that at work, what would you do? More than 50% pay raise????

Honestly, Mario was the guy I wanted back after we fired Shannon; besides leaving a month after he was hired on staff, I don't see anything wrong with Mario being hired.

Regardless of who is hired, we need a QB for the long term and someone who can develop them. Cross fingers Olsen puts the gonja down and quits ******* Pete's girl friend.

**** it, my body is ready.

@dropkine Appears they are signing the paperwork tomorrow with @GoldenAl. He's a Penn State guy coming home.
Retweeted by Nigel Bethel II

The guy is more of a nobody than most posters here. Bethel is a clown retweeting him

That was the interesting part was Bethel retweet, and to Al's account.

Bethel is probably happy Al is leaving so he can get a REAL Defensive Coordinator at the college level. He also tweeted that he will not decommit if Al leaves.

The thing about the handlers and all the hangers-on in the Miami community is that they ALL hate D'Onofrio and his defense. There isn't anyone alive in the urban areas of Miami who thinks Duh' is doing a good job. So, a new coach would actually be viewed as a major positive by most in the inner city.

The only people who really like Golden at this point are the stuffed shirt white bread assh0les who just want a HC who speaks well and runs a clean program.

I honestly don't really give a **** about the business side of it. I'm a fan of this program and team and he's hurting it right now.

The closest thing we will get to a home -run hire is a new DC. ****, any new DC is a homerun compared to our current situation

It's too late to turn back now for Golden. Everyone knows he wants out. No denial, not a **** word.

He has to go.
