I was skeptical that Golden would leave UM after all he'd endured to go to Penn State where that program is dealing a whole lot more of NCAA-imposed restrictions, some of the depth issues still haven't actually bottomed out yet. USC coaches can explain to Penn State folks about what that false bottom feels like. Still, I've heard from several sources that say Golden's thinking a lot about the prospects of leaving. We'll see if he gets offered the job and if he jumps.

at what point does the BOD make football more of a prioirty, if ever. Not sure any of us can answer that. A hiring of Butch would be a media and recruiting windfall, on the back of the already good recruiting class. From what i have read over the years, he burned alot of bridges, then theres the cheating at UNC. Is there a point that the BOD or boosters would overlook that and overrule the president, if in fact she did not want him?
 
butch has a great coaching tree and apparently sileo said he told him he wants the U job back.

Said Golden would take the PSU job, it's what he's always wanted. I asked why he didn't take it last time and he said despite rumors he wasn't offered. Said Miami lied to him, he asked straight up if anything was brewing and they said no. I asked about No D and his reply was "douchebag, our kids wouldn't play for him, bad coach and personality." Said they were playing Army and No D wanted him to clear the front section because they were reading his play card, he told him no, it's the ARMY....LMAO. Said No D didn't accept the Temple position when Al left because he knew the team didn't respect him.
