Chris Freet won't and can't say anything. Nothing Blake James can say is gonna help anything if his head coach is considering leaving, which he is. Recruits know its out there. The only one capable of saying anything to change the story is Golden. He isn't saying anything because he is probably gon if actually offered.

I'm torn about if Golden leaves. I like him as a Coach, but have ZERO faith in Onofrio. If he can't get rid of him then I feel he needs to be gone as well. But Whatever happens will happen and we have no control over it. I have been a CANES fan since 1980 and will still be one no matter what happens.

The sooner you accept the fact those two are a package deal, the sooner you will accept, and perhaps even embrace, the notion of him packing his bags.

Don't expect it. But new HC in the mist of Al jumping ship, might have the eblow to strong arm Donna -- Chud and Greg were Butch guys -- into accepting him as assistant. Million to one, but we are not talking HC here. Still, thought is clear the last sentence was a dreamy closure.

Don't misunderstand, I'd take Butch in a heartbeat, he is easily the best recruiter and developer of talent in college football, its just that when you realize that the person responsible for the collapse of the U will be hiring the next coach, you should be very worried.

I know they're a package deal and Golden has said as much. I was just holding on to the .0000000000000000000000001% chance that Golden might have the Testicular fortitude to Fire Onofrio.

On a Side note I would love to see michigan state dc pat narduzzi get the shot to be the next HC
 
Reynolds knows next to nothing and the PSU people are more desperate than they will ever admit. The only thing we've got going around here is panic - and it's unsightly. People need to get a hold of their **** selves

As we reported yesterday, here are the five names we’re hearing as candidates for the job. Al Golden, James Franklin, Jim Caldwell, Greg Schiano and Larry Johnson.

Since last night we were able to get some more information on Golden so here’s what we know this morning.

1. Golden and/or his representatives have had contact with Penn State. We don’t know if he has interviewed yet, but we expect him to be one of the guys Joyner sits down with during this process.

2. Golden has started exploring his options for potential assistants if he ended up being Penn State’s choice. Right now we do not see all of his current assistants at Miami following him to State College if he became the next head coach. We’re pretty confident that defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio would follow Golden to Penn State. He’s a Penn State guy and has been with Golden for years.

To reiterate what we said yesterday, from talking to sources, Penn State is a job Golden would jump at. He views it as a destination/dream job which certainly go over well with Penn State administrators and Lettermen following O’Brien’s departure. We were told Golden’s wife, Kelly, who is originally from Lock Haven, Pa. does like it down in Miami though.
