Official State Penn job as it relates to Golden Thread

Would You Be Upset If Al Left For Pedo State?

I've seen enough of Golden to know that he's not the one for us. The best thing he can do is take the PSU job or risk getting fired next year because He's not going to win 10+ games here with the defense he runs.

Based on the poll results, looks like most Miami fans would agree.

That's the whole issue..Al is tied to Dorito.. and his system..he believes in both to the death...the media and fans are all outraged over those things..he will stay more than likely.. but if push comes to shove over Dorito..he'll bolt.

Care to give us the winning lottery numbers too or nah? I mean, while you're at it..

Since I brought this up in the recruiting thread that got zapped, I'll post it again here:

Now that his name is already out there, every second he doesn't take his name out of contention is a second that it looks like he's leaving. He's either trying to get a bigger contract, or he's leaving. If he leaves, **** him.

If he's trying get a bigger contract, **** him too. This would be his list of accomplishments in 3 years at UM:

22-15 record
0 conference titles
0 division titles
2 contract extensions

I want him to do what Howard, Jimmy, and Dennis did. Win a national title in the next 3 years and if he goes pro, he goes pro. Anything else and he's a worthless *******.

Wow just realized. If Chud were to become HC, I'd say there is a very strong chance Butch Davis becomes DC and recruiting coordinator. Would be insane. Wouldn't be shocked at all to see us improve immediately under that scenario.

If he hasn't dismissed the Penn State rumors at this point, he's interested in the job. Doesn't mean he will get it though. Best thing he can do is keep mum until he finds out exactly where he sits with Penn State. Otherwise, if he comes out publicly as a candidate, the recruits will start dropping us now, and if he doesn't get the Penn State job we are all worse off.

If we lose Golden, and Coley bolts, we lose Valentine, Yearby, Kaaya, pretty much ever CRITICAL recruit in this class. But its cool, becuase any coach can just come in here and win 11 games with 2 star talent. I mean just look how great the last "transition" class worked out for us!!!

According to this story he's on their short list already:

And it's going to stay this way until he speaks to the media on Monday. Why not send a phone call to Blake James, Chris Freet, or Chris Yandle so they can issue a statement for him and nip this in the bud early?

He doesn't have to nip this in the bud, nor should he if he wants the Penn Sate job. If he wants the job there is no good way to mollify our recruits right now. The best thing for us in that case is for him to keep quiet. If he doesn't get the PSU job it minimizes the damage done to recruiting. If he does get the PSU job it's gonna ***** up the class regardless of how he handles the PR over the next couple of days. The fact that he hasn't come out and deny he's interested tell me all I need to know. He wants the job.

I'm willing to sacrifice a class if it means getting a coach that knows what he's doing and gets the most out of his players.

No, the best course of action is not to keep quiet. The best course of action is for him to talk to Blake James TODAY. Tell him if he's interested or not. If he's not, say it so that the school can say he's not going anywhere. If he is, let James know so that contingency plans can be made in case he's offered the job. The worst thing to do is to just keep quiet.

Player matter too. This class is really good. Another one like it next year and we are back in the hunt. I don't give a crap about nothing but this here U. I want Al for another recruiting class. Will we suck on D next year, probably. If he is still insisting his defense will work, fire him and his girl friend then--after NSD and with a replacement in line. And it needs to be somebody that can coach the X &O s. Until then, string him along.

Al Golden is interested IMO and why wouldn't he be. He can go to a school where the fan base will love everything he represents and will give him a minimum 5 years to get it right. Thats three more years than he's going to get here.

If we are being honest with ourselves, Golden is a better fit for PSU. I actually think he would find success there. I do believe he is their top choice and the job will be his if he wants it. His resume is perfect for what they are looking for in a coach.

This class is great. And I wish we could lock it in and shut it down right now. But, honestly, if Golden is unwilling to change DC and scheme, what is the point of bringing in these defensive recruits? I know better talent will mean better d, but our defense performs worse than our talent level as is. Its a fatal flaw of this team.

If a change happens, I would love to have Greg Schiano

i've been telling people for a week: it's done. Golden's wife is looking for a house in Happy Valley, and there are just a few contract details to resolve with Schiano.

Honestly, these are the posts that should get posters banned (or elevated to God status).

Either Golden leaves and you're a hero for having great sources, or he stays and you're a **** stirrer and need to be gone.

Simple as that.
