Whatever happened to those twitter fools who said Golden to PSU 4 mill? Something ain't right here. I swear if we end up retaining AG after all his shenanigans, I will personally drive to the Hecht and burn it to the ground.

If Penn State still is interviewing other people, it's just a matter of following due process by checking out other candidates...

I still think Golden is their top choice. I seriously doubt Munchak gets the job, I think Penn State might have learned from the O'Brien situation, meaning that they will hire a college guy instead of an NFL guy.

Learned what? O'Brien did an outstanding job there the past two years. I promise he did a better job than Golden would have done. If you mean by.......they don't want their next coach bolting to the NFL at the first chance, that could be correct.

Munchak isn't making a return to the NFL though. He coached for 1 franchise his whole life. I highly doubt he'd ever be considered for another NFL head coaching job. He's been a career OL coach.

hasn't it occurred to anyone franklin is a minority. maybe penn state wants to interview him basically for show so they can say hey we interviewed a few guys but golden al was the best guy. blah blah. I revised my odds last night. this thing is 30/70 he comes back. still a chance they decide to hire someone else. clearly he wants the job or else he would have pulled his name out. shame on our AD for issuing a statement last night that will ultimately make him look like a fool.

Congrats AL golden, the man who has now turned most of Miamis fan base against himself, in 3 days nonetheless, and to think, if he had just came out openly and made a statement regarding this situation and fired his bonehead Dcord, it would all be normal and most would still like ya!

No rooney rule and Munchak is white

PSU had good experiences with O'Brien. He was an NFL guy who exceeded expectations. Munchak would fit that mold and is a Paterno guy unlike O'Brien. I expect we will hear from Golden at the presser tomorrow unless it's postponed.

Munchak has never coached in college. Not in his 20 year coaching career. All NFL. O'Brien coached at Brown for 2 years, Georgia Tech for 8, Maryland for 2, and Duke for 2. He was in the NFL for 5 years. He's hardly an "NFL" guy. He was a college guy who went to the NFL. He coached in college for 14 years before going to the NFL and then back to college.

I agree with you that they're interviewing Franklin to interview someone. But it's not about being a minority, so much. Larry Johnson is interrim HC, is a PSU guy, his kid played for PSU, his kids have businesses up there according to the people on that Grosz show and he happens to be African-American. I wonder why people aren't talking about him and whether he should get a serious look at HC? Golden has proven he can deal with the probation crap and his act will play well with alumni. He's a college guy. He will recruit like **** up here in the NE. Hackenberg will stay. The lingering question has to be the performance on the defensive side of the ball. Everyone saw that Louisville game.

Franklin's gotta be using this as leverage for a raise. Unlike the fat greaseball, Franklin's stock is very right now. Vandy will kick in another million to hold onto him. No way he'd be looking to jump into that steaming cesspool in Crappy Valley with his stock as high as it is now. Mark him off the list.

Munchc0ck? No college experience. That's gotta be a huge negative for him. Someone claimed he turned down a raise because he wanted the PUS job. Why the fck would the Titans offer him a raise and then fire him? Dumb.

This is where the greaseball's swindling ways can inure to UM's benefits. He probably showed up to his interview in his blue khakis that are too short and white socks with black shoes and 9 pillars. Flashed the greaseball smile and charm. I'm still hoping BFA shysts his way into this gig. Please.

NCAA doesnt have the rooney rule

Not saying they do. If anyone needs the pr of saying hey we interviewed an African American it's these guys. Not to mention just as another candidate and ordinary due diligence they have to interview a few guys.

Golden would do a bang up job at PSU... He'll have the money to hire the right coordinators and coaches and he'll be able to keep his boy as assistant head coach. He is gone...

Good experiences? Guy just left and bashed the crap out of the school on his way out.

Mortensen also said Munchak turned down raise and extension with Titans. Could be he wants the PSU job badly...

I heard that the Titans offered Munchak a raise and extension but that he needed to clean house which he didnt want to do. Then on top of that, they had come up with a marketing plan advertise for next year with the tagline "Change for Change's Sake" which was just rubbing salt in the wound:

"League sources say that Munchak stood on principle when Titans CEO Tommy Smith offered a multiyear extension at almost double his $3 million salary, conditional upon Munchak making more than a dozen staff firings and demotions."

Everything you said is right......

Except he is bringing D'onfrio so the only thing he will be banging is boy butt.

He just might. Don't underestimate the "little JoePa" thing. It's amazing what a little time and distance will do. After Sandusky, a decent portion of that fanbase talked about getting a guy that had no ties to PSU, there is none of that now, none. Seems to be just the opposite. people on that Grosz show were positively jizzing at the thought of Golden to PSU.

The only fly in the ointment is Al's apparent stubborn insistance that D' is the right choice for coordinator.
