Jimmy was a young nobody from Ok state. Erickson was also an up and comer who came here on the cheap.
Same with Butch. Coker also.
We got Shannon because we couldn't afford to get anyone better, which is saying a lot.
We extended Golden because we found a diamond, and gave him a raise so that he would still make less than more than half the D-1 coaches.

Clueless. Butch, JJ, and Howard all had insane resumes. Compared to Coker lmfao. The difference is Sam J actually did his job and we didn't low ball interested parties.

Well, if he walks away from his alma mater with 4mil on the table I wouldn't question his loyalty to Miami. I might question his sanity, but not his "heart"

Recruit Valentine just decommitted from Miami. Smh. This whole situation needs to be resolved ASAP.
 
Exactly. If he doesn't accept he's a moron. The only thing that ends this deal is the PSU side.

If he stays now his heart is in Coral Gables. We might not support him, but the decision, as far as we know, hasn't been made. You can crucify him for bringing Dorito with him. You can crucify him for his lousy defensive scheme. You can crucify him for not having his players ready to play in big games. But he's not betrayed the University of Miami yet. We will know by the end of the day tomorrow what happening. Expecting resolution before then is unrealistic.
 
I'm telling you, I'm beginning to think that Ferman also runs PSU site covertly. All the contacts there are circle jerking themselves into a lather thinking Al being polite means of course he will take the job, I mean how could he not, in their minds. He's one of them. Story spins out of control, internets gonna internet.

And here we are 5000 posts later, 3 days of my so called life gone, and coach D' likely staying and making more bank.

The problem is we're never going to know the true story. The truth is probably that PSU either had second thoughts or never gave him a "real" offer.

Bottom line...if he has allowed it to get this far he wants the job. You don't put on a condom unless you intend to share scripture, sorta speak.

It's perfectly reasonable for everyone to be angry. He's the one that's been preaching patience...now he looks to leave.

Yeah...a couple days before EE's enroll and 30 days out from NSD. All the while knowing full well this could hurt his incoming recruiting class if his intention really is to come back.

Miami can afford to pay way more than some on here think and probably would if they had to this go around. But the reverse is also true, why pay more than you need to if you can get someone you think can do the job and is willing to accept what you offer?
 
I dont understand why everyone is acting like they didnt see this coming....People should have known the one job that Golden would leave for would be for PSU. Its not like he has been going around telling everyone he wasnt leaving(Saban/Butch).
