next week mite provide a good parallel comparison game for me. Venice travels to Manatee for a 2nd round game. I saw Manatee completely shutdown Wes Brown (Maryland Good Counsel kid). Next Friday we will see what Canes commit Danny Dillard (Venice high) can do against that Manatee front seven.

Ghost of Venice - thoughts???

This game is gonna be tough for us. We played Manatee like the 2nd game of the season earlier and they gave us our only loss. Manatee is a solid team this year

Tonight in 8A play-offs......After beating Lake Brantley last week, 28-14, my boys at Fletcher High School beat up on DeLand, 24-7....next up is the winner of Orlando Olympia/OrlandoTimberCreek....anyone know anything about either school?? Thanks, guys.....

Dillard had a pretty costly fumble in the Manatee-Venice game.
Manatee had them beat from the get go, Venice rallied back late in the 4th. That Manatee team beat us 52-19 earlier this year. Im actually suprised they didnt score more

Ghost,
What's your take on Dillard as a prospect?
Dude is a solid runner, seems to always fall forward for an extra 1-2 yards when going down. Another thing is hes a gym rat, one of those dudes who loves to just lift weights and get after it in the weight room. Im actually excited to see how he stacks up versus better talent in the NCAA. First one of our guys to go to a non SEC school so ive been keeping tabs on him, cant wait to see him suit up here

As good or not as good as Tre Smith as a prospect?
Real talk, Tre was the best white FB player ive ever had the pleasure to play for/see. He was just unreal.Tre was obviously faster and had sick moves but Danny runs better between the tackles. Ardell Daniels was even sicker than Tre, he ended up playing at Army though

My fear for Dillard as a running back...dude will just always be banged up and a weekly guest on the injury report.

A couple of big backs around the country...Ryan Houston at UNC, and Ronnie Wingo at Arkansas...big backs, between the tackles types, but 6'2"-ish, and always injured, banged up, etc.

Just a thing with those types of backs.

Its that running style that does em in. My only hope is i know how Coach P is crazy about lifting in the offseason and conditioning, i can only hope is all the work and extra mile these guys go through will prevent some of those nagging injuries, cant coach a tough mentality gotta instill it since day 1

Central whooped up on Belen 49 -19 in a 6A quarter final

St. Thomas Aquainas has a tough two game stretch in the 7A playoff. They play Dwyer high next week then Manatee the week after that, should they both win.

If they beat Dwyer that Manatee game should be interesting as ****

Well, 42-19...but yeah. Also, Central has two sophomore stud running backs. Keep an eye on Dalvin Cooke.....I thing that was his name.
