NCAA did away with the 25 cap but didn't grant more OV's to the limit. We're trying to basically sign 2 classes worth of kids (~40) with one class's worth of OV's. That's the issue.
It was never an issue because the portal didn’t exist and we weren’t able or trying to flip a roster in one cycle. Also, probably because our recruiting board was a joke as well.

My guess is Miami is not the only one running low. NCAA never thinks things through. Lets remove the counters for a few years but not take into account that means schools would need more OVs to accomodate. Plus didn't they make that decision late in the summer after schools may have already started using them.
It being an OV is very telling given what we know about those being in shrot supply and the staff saving them only for those with legit interest or they feel they can get to commit.
