In fairness...Dawson called ****** plays last year too, we just had better athletes across the board. Not to say this squad is that far off, but bigger holes.

Dawson has a habit for moving away from things that work, and forcing concepts the team isn't built for. I still can't believe we stopped doing those rubs and slot wheel routes. Even TVD has massive success running them.

Until Mario changes his philosophical approach to winning games, it doesn't matter.

As long as we're married to the tUfF & fiZiCuLL ethos it will be wash, rinse, repeat of the Coordinator cycle.

Dawson is being scapegoated this year, next year it will be Heatherman & in 2027 it will be whoever the OC is that replaces Dawson.

If the Mas brothers tell Mario he needs to hand over the keys and stay out of the offense, who do you like?

I mentioned Drew Cranic, kotelnicki, and Petrino in this thread. All those will be either looking for jobs, or gettable. Can probably come up with a few more.

Mario is a mid IQ having fake tough guy. He ain’t seeing any light.
 
Give me any OC with balls big enough to only accept IF he was 100% say on all offensive calls.

Now if we land a no name g5 OC then we know he has no balls and Mario still calls the shots
 
An OC should have a resume of success at multiple, highly varied institutions. Need someone who adapts to the players on the roster and maximizes them.

Do not want someone wedded to a particular style.

We've already got the next OC on the payroll and staff. He's just a short step away from the spot as he already calls the running plays. Yup, that's right, it's Alex Mirabal time.

Mike Gundy - his Okie State offenses were explosive for years without Top 20 recruiting classes. They developed great QB - RB -WRs, and he would be a nice Assistant Head Coach for mArio to lean on with tons of experience.
 
Since we are not getting rid of Mario for the foreseeable future, give me Mullen and 80% autonomy. Mario wants to be one of the handful who won NCs as a player and HC. Give Danny a quality QB and OZl and Mario can take credit……


….but this is Miami and we are not going to upgrade. We are going to hire someone who thinks Caveball at the U is just fine…..
