OC question

That's the problem. The only guys you're going to get to fill the role that Brown has are guys like Brown. No one with a proven track record of calling plays is coming here to gameplan and coach QBs and let Richt call the shots on Saturday. So it's either Richt's show, or he will totally step aside. Ken Dorsey coached QBs in the NFL for 5 seasons. I seriously, seriously doubt he's coming to Miami to gameplan for Richt. That's not the normal career progression.

And what I said above wasn't a shot at Brown...I think he's a fine all-around coach. It's just that's the resume you're getting to fill that spot...a guy who has never called plays before. No one who has at any significant program/team is going to come here to watch Richt do it on Saturday.

Pete Garcia makes $434K

Senior associate AD Julie Berg makes $120K

Those numbers on Florida salary search are from Spring 2018

No ******* way Ken Dorsey is making more than $120K right now

Yet here we sit w a couple of coOCs who can’t get offense ready and Jon Richt Not developing our QBs

And no one to my knowledge on offensive staff w any NFL experience

The obsession with former players/staff on this board is borderline creepy.

I'm not saying Dorsey wouldn't be an upgrade, but what's the fascination here? He's never called plays either. You guys do realize that other programs have smart and successful people as well, correct?

I used Dorsey as an example because he has coaching experience and he had such a great playing career cause he was a student of the game. He didnt have the great skills but knew where to go with the ball and who to get it to on each play based on what he saw. He did a good job with Cam Newton also.

OK but this is The University of Miami. You don't need to take risks here. Sure, again, Dorsey coaching QBs would be so much of an upgrade over Fredo it's difficult to describe. But as an OC? Why? He's never called plays before. You have plenty of guys out there who have proven they can ring up video game numbers as offensive playcallers. You don't have to hire a former Cane to score points.

Maybe Dorsey would be good, maybe he wouldn't. But I know for a concrete fact that Kendal Briles would absolutely terrify everyone in the country if he came here. That's the move to make. Not another guy who hasn't called plays.

This is particular to the situation

Richt is here till 2023.
He isn’t giving up play calling duties
We need a QB coach and someone who has some nfl experience bc no one else does.
And Dorsey happens to be across town making $120k or less as assistant ad at fiu

I think the best we can hope for is for richt to replace QB coach and have someone else prepping the offense and game planning.

It just so happens that Dorsey happens to fit the bill and be available right ******* now.

agreed move John to recruiting some bull**** title and move from there

Would love Briles...but trust me....Kenny was given the Green light to Audible at ANY time....Butch knew how headsy he was, so did Clappy....Never saw a kid at UM study gamefilm as much....I'm talking religiously....

Unfortunately, it isn't enough. He needs to distance himself from the offense. He needs to stop playing OC, fire his dipchit offspring and bring in a real competent OC. Let that OC pick his staff, especially the QB coach.

This is why we will never have a real OC. Cmr knows that if he brings one in, jr is canned.
