With all of the insanity over our new OC, I just want to pop in and say that I am absolutely thrilled with the (alleged) pool of applicants Manny is mulling over. Fedora, Applewhite, Scott, Wright - all have demonstrable offensive identities within a general spread philosophy. We can argue personality and the minutia of Xs and Os (which I'm sure I will at some point), but looking at all the candidates so far it's very obvious the overall type of offense Manny wants us running, and I couldn't be more pleased about it.

Agree 100% with OP.

some people on this site act like Josh McDaniels should be begging to get offered the OC job.

Their 2 parts to what you’ve mentioned in my opinion:

1. Every major coach knows Miami is a sleeping giant waiting to be woken up.
2. How amazing our previous regime did not see the potential we had as a program with the current talent and potential recruits.

I said in a different post we just need to be patient. The trend is very positive in terms of the names being floated around. Looks like whoever it ends up being is a spread type guy. I would bet that's what most posters want anyway.

I'd rather he take his time and get the best OC possible. Everyone wants him to make a hire NOW and that's a mistake....this is THE most important hire of Manny's tenure and will likely define his success here.

Take your time player.
Yes! Manny take your time and get the right guy!! beside him this is the most important hire in about 15 years!! OC!

Yup. We can all ***** and moan about who it is afterward but the fact remains we are finally moving out of having a dated offense no matter who it is.

Are you any relation to ghost88? This sounds like something his wife would let him post.

Much improved from previous regimes. It felt like they would just interview names (and strike out) without worrying about the underlying philosophy. Manny is interviewing good names that align with his vision. It's refreshing to have a HC with a plan
