I heard the announcer say that during their game today. He said with some help and a win, they could be. They are 5-7. If they make a bowl, then the ULM Warhawks should and they are 10,times worse than Texas.

You can make a bowl with 5 wins if there are not enough 6 win teams and your APR is in good shape.

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I used to love bowl season as a kid. But now it’s a lot of lame matchups, (sometimes rematches), and now there’s way too many of them. Only thing that makes it interesting is if you bet on them lol

Many bowl games have turned into off-time fillers.

You can make money with reruns from the 50s.

Pretty much anything you can slap in a time slot will make advertising dollars.

An actual football game, including shltty bowl games, will probably make more advertising revenue than say, for example, an infomercial, or some obscure black and white movie that nobody really likes.

That’s why many bowl games have become kill-some-time moderate revenue fillers.

They are enough to charge higher advertising rates than your average TV filler, so they’ll still make money. Not the big money the big prestige bowls used to make but still probably better than average anyway.

Texas. Unlimited funds. Sark. LOL.

Texas is without a doubt the weirdest program ever. More money than God, and still can’t get it right. I’ve been shouting from the mountain tops about how we need more money, but then in the back of my mind is always Texas. I have no idea why they can’t get it right, other than I think there are too many chefs in the kitchen.

Exactly. Imagine if there was only one program in Florida with THAT level of money AND in the most desirable college locale and still produced the consistent level of mediocrity coming out of Austin.

Like I get that TAMU has money too but they're in Bumblefuk and certainly not THE school associated with that state. Same with Baylor but also in Bumblefuk and a formidable level of financial support but still nowhere in the same league.

The definition of doing less with more, but in Texas' case a lot less with a lot more.

I can't even imagine our fanbase in the same circumstance. We rightfully get irate about the myth that we don't have money. Imagine if we knew that big money was there, being spent.....and we're still an embarrassment. Kinda goes to @OriginalCanesCanesCanes nightmare even if we never have Texas level money.

This is kinda OT but I blame Texas' mediocrity, USC and us being targeted by the NCAA and being too inept to recover and the apathy of the Big Ten presidents about NCAA power dynamics for the rise of the SEC.

Iron-clad indisputable facts.
