Sitting outside grilling steaks and the sky is not falling
I’m not at practice so I have to trust these coaches. Which I still do even though i think we’re a guy short even before Buchanan inj. From the outside putting Cantwell or Congdon at tackle and moving Samson to guard. Maybe McCoy. Again I’ll trust the coaches. I don’t know that there is an answer currently on the team to improve.Sorry, my goal isn’t beating BC and Pitt. Anyone who says the line is fine is delusional. My bad for thinking these OL coaches/recruiters should have it in better shape than it is.
Dear Lawn Guyland Bít.ch.
We currently have roughly 2.4 million posts (and counting) regarding our O line. These posts are mainly in threads created over the last six weeks, with several new ones popping up regularly, almost daily. We did not need yet another thread (by a first time porster) about the O line. It's why I wrote what I wrote. I also noticed that I'm not the only one giving you pushback.
The O line is not elite. The offense is though. Fucc it, let's blow it all up.
Also, since you so keenly spotted the deficiency, what's your realistic solution to fix this problem so we beat more than BC and Pitt?
Sincerely
BDDFC
let’s summarizeMy menstruating teenage daughter gave more mature responses than that.
My big question for this team is, how does a Cristobal/Mirabal team in the NIL era miss so bad on the O Line.
The rest of the offense is so good it covers it up to some degree but I can’t help but think this is gonna sink this ship at some point.

let’s summarize
- I stated our oline wasn’t handled as well as it could have been
- you disagree and state who else could we have got beside seaton
- I respond, exactly, seaton would be a much welcomed addition
- you tell me to root for another team (much like a menstruating little **** would)
- I respond that many, including the owner of this website, think a veteran OL should have been brought in
- so desperate to “win”, you elect to respond by bringing your own child’s bleeding ****** into this

Why can’t we just enjoy 1 day as the best team in the country? My big question for this team is, how does a Cristobal/Mirabal team in the NIL era miss so bad on the O Line.

How many different ways can this be discussed also? We needed another thread on this issue? My big question for this team is, how does a Cristobal/Mirabal team in the NIL era miss so bad on the O Line.

This. Tackle approach was coaching malpractice. We have a huge problem at guard on a team where we have two elite guards but they’re playing tackle….only to be thrown right back to guard at the next level. No, the o line is being covered up. Just watch how much pressure Mensah is under and how often we get hit as soon as the rb hits the line. It’s mostly yards after carry that is working. I’d argue the only guy not out of position is Rodriguez. And still having the number 1 offense only means how good we could be if we had a better line.
I don’t think it’s that cut and dry….feels like promises have been made to Sampson and Matt to play tackle after playing the merry go round at guard “for the team” the last 2 seasons.I’m not at practice so I have to trust these coaches. Which I still do even though i think we’re a guy short even before Buchanan inj. From the outside putting Cantwell or Congdon at tackle and moving Samson to guard. Maybe McCoy. That is a perfectly acceptable and reasonable answer (bolded). I can respect that answer because it's honest.
If you trust the coaches, then trust them. If they thought Samson moving to guard was the answer, they would do it. I too am not at practice. I see that the line is flawed. I also see that SJ has definitely improved. He's still a midget (relatively speaking), but his play has gone from OMG bad to workable. That does not mean he doesn't still make mistakes - he does. So does Congdon and the rest of them. This is my opinion, but I think a lot of what we are seeing are the growing pains of young OL being asked to pick up a lot. Pass blocking has a lot of nuance and multiple techniques at the college level. Most high schools aren't pass blocking as often as they're running and the techniques they're taught are basic.
Unless you'd like to continue, I think we've finished here. I now will remove the B-word from my previous responses to you as a small token of respect.
Did you moisten your finger and hold it up to the breeze prior to postulating that?I don’t think it’s that cut and dry….feels like promises have been made to Sampson and Matt to play tackle after playing the merry go round at guard “for the team” the last 2 seasons.I’m not at practice so I have to trust these coaches. Mauigoa is the starting RG for the New York Giants. It would be way less disappointing if we weren’t constantly told how great our head coach and OL coach are at developing lines. How did those guys look at the group we’re trotting out every Saturday and say “nah, we don’t need any portal help”.?
Do we know what Seaton got? I think we just flat out got outbid for him.Facts, but the bar has changed.
We’re natty hunting now. I bet if you asked Mario today, he’d have paid more than LSU did for Seaton, knowing what that domino effect could’ve done for our OL. We were close there.
Obviously hindsight 20/20. He probably thought Cantwell would be ready by now to at least contribute, and a few others to improve more than they have.
