In 3 of our last 4 games we played some of the worst rushing defenses in college football. We amassed the lowest number of yards all season for two of them and 2nd lowest for the other.

Ga Tech ranks 132nd in rush defense.

Louisville - 227 yards
South Carolina St - 196
Mississippi - 299
Wake - 224
Bowling Green - 175
Miami - 165
BC - 308
UNC - 267

UVA ranks 97th in rush defense.

Tennessee - 287
James Madison - 167
Maryland - 119
North Carolina St - 139
BC - 203
William & Mary - 143
UNC - 143
Miami - 113

UNC ranks 87th in rush defense.

South Carolina - (-2)
Appalachian St - 219
Minnesota - 170
Pitt - 113
Syracuse - 92
Miami - 91
UVA - 228
Ga Tech - 348

Somebody explain this s*** to me. Because it looks real bad.

Not an expert but...
... running into the middle of the defensive front over and over again, especially when they load the box knowing your qb can't throw a 15 yd pass, might have something to do with it

The running scheme is terrible. The OL is clearly better but we struggle to run against FBS teams.
[BGCOLOR=initial]Take away that 80yd run from a WR and we didn't do so great against Clemson either. [/BGCOLOR]

[BGCOLOR=initial]We aren't a good running team at all. [/BGCOLOR]

Virginia ran safeties up late and we didn’t account for it. Looking back, the same game plan last week with the quick hitters outside would have been a good counter on first down.

No amount of creativity can fix having a QB that doesn’t give you much in the passing game. The Canes are having to run into 9 man boxes, the best OL in history would struggle to make that work.

Miami isn’t the 95 Huskers, a team that ran the ball for 450+ game after game, despite everyone knowing it was coming. Then again, Tommie Frazier could hit open receivers so you had to at least respect it.

I mean, did you intentionally leave off the performance against the best defense we play all year where we ran very well?

we're better in pass protection but against FBS comp, we're still averaging over 5 yards per carry and we've played better defenses than almost everyone above us on this list
