i suspect they'll perform way better statistically than he did here. Just was never a fit for us

Was always the way it was gonna be. Mario lets him go somewhere else without outright firing him. Looks a lot better for both parties after 1 year but was always clear he wasn’t coming back.

As harsh as that sounds, it’s probably the best thing he could do for him long term. I said the best thing Mark could do for Jon was demote him to a GA or analyst and bring in an experienced innovative OC/QB that he could learn from and grow. That or have him take a job on another staff and have him cut his teeth. I get it extremely difficult to do but now Jon is out of College ball and likely never to get another P5 shot again.

Only a few posters on the Iowa 247 site think Ferenz would keep his son

Most, including the mods, believe he would let him leave. Seems like the same kind of thing as Gattis. They believe Ferenz must have told McNamara there would be changes in offense to get him to commit.
