I am surprised so many people responded that well to this comment, actually.

I've posted what kind of candidates we should be pursuing. The leading guy imo just put up 51 points in OT against a Venables coached defense that is ranked 40th in DFEI. Thats a decent ranking for a team in their conference.

Texas Tech played with 3-4 QB's this season and all put up numbers. I endorse the TT OC........

They say “ champions are built in the offseason” but at Miami it’s “ we’re champions of the offseason“ and this will be year four of our dynasty. It should be easily the best one yet. I’ll be expecting far more excitement and happiness than the last three months combined. Here’s a quick sample of things to come.

1. Dramatic changes to the O staff. Regardless if it’s coaches “ going elsewhere“ , “ mutual separation“ or just straight up fired., the room will look dramatically different. The defensive side is the tricky part, I’d expect a minimum of one change but wouldn’t be shocked if it’s blown up too. I’ve always viewed most of that staff as safe but I’m not as sure with that as of today. That one will be intriguing.

2. A very nice finish to the recruiting class , maybe even better than I originally expected. Adding flips and a couple surprises to an already loaded class. The crap show of a season hasn’t change my outlook on a really good finish.

3. Hitting the portal and hard. There’ll be starters at positions of need being added through the portal and more depth as well As I’ve been saying for months “this offseason will have more quality enter than we’ve ever seen in the few years of it’s existence“. There will be a focus on adding playmakers on offense. Wr’s , OL and even one rb is possible. Defense I could see all three levels adding key guys, the back seven getting a lot of the focus.

We won’t recognize this roster at the kickoff of the ‘23 season.

The season is over and thats once again a good thing , hopefully this is the last year we’re living in this state of insanity. To be continued …….

Sure hope you are correct. Counter-view might be:

1. Our DL was often referred to as the "strength of this team." The reality was that none of our "units" on offense or defense were of even average quality. Some individuals (a very rare few) stood out but ...

2. I don't know how very young, impressionable HS recruits could look at the performance (on the field or on the sidelines) and really still have a burning desire to come here. Are we banking that recruits would think there'd be little to no competition for jobs? Trouble with that thinking is we know all head coaches (and maybe especially the conservative MC) aren't about to give true frosh that kind of run.

3. Better hope the Portal is super-productive.

We need a QB.

On defense:
Remove Steele and if he had a two year deal move him off field unless he gets some other DC offer that I doubt is coming at his age.

If Addae is checked out then you go to Corey Raymond and offer 33% more than UF is paying to get him here.

Salavea and Strong should stay

If Rod Wright isn’t going to land us anyone quality (Wayne was Mario’s guy) then get rid of him also as long as JT solidifies that he’s staying onboard as an analyst.

On offense:
Send Gattis and Ponce out the door TODAY. ENOUGH.

Smith, Mirabal, Field will stay.

Go offer Herman, Riley, Ruggiero, Longo, Golesh offers they can’t turn down and allow them to hire their own WR coach.

I’ll go against the grain here and say let it have a few days … how he lets go these guys is part of recruiting their replacements. No one wants to be part of staff that looks like it’s scapegoat central. Yes gattis has to go. I’ll give Mario a week.

Oh I’m just being sarcastic lol the only thing I’m expecting in the next 48 hours are current players hitting the portal
