Since the concept of the transfer portal (or immediate transfer eligibility - no penalty prior to) and the ruling that allows for this current incarnation of funding college athletes - NIL...we have been on the forefront of it. Our demise, however brief, was because they'd call foul on this program while turning a blind eye to others, so we couldn't compete. Now that everything is on a more level playing field at this tier of football...our program is coming around and back to where it should be - at minimum - in the mix.

From what little I know, we spend good money and our money is good and on time. We run a good operation. I like how it has made this already tight community of fans and alum even tighter. It has been cool to see the program change and evolve. The Coker Era seems like medieval times. The game is very different now, and in many ways passed us by for a long time. We were stuck in the Dark Ages as a football and basketball program in comparison to what we are doing now. We purchased a Final Four team (and flipped an entire well paid roster with what might be an impact head coach hire) and a (for now) college football playoff team in what seems like a sustainable way that is well backed.

Hopefully that doesn't change and we can win some championships now.
