playoffs should be 16 teams to get rid of NDs autobid and then ADs should freeze them out.
Agreed. Since they made such a big stink of how they felt they were robbed this year. How about showing them ******** what real power looks like. Stick together....Refuse to play their little games. Taking them off of the schedules, would be a good start. But they won't do that, because ND brings eyes and money.Rad needs to be one of those:
Makes zero sense to play them if they are now going to steal 1 of the big12, Acc, G5 champions spot.
It is now 2 guaranteed spots for conference champions (Sec&Big10). More than likely 3 but one can’t be so sure that the acc, big12, or g5 champion will be ranked above 13.
Get them off of the schedule
do you feel that notre dame is going to hand pick who they go into the big10 with? What power does notre dame have to be “our ticket” into big10? If the big10 wants us that’s all that matters.I kinda disagree, ND could be our ticket into getting into the Big 10. Generally schools enter as pairs, and if ND feels enough pressure to actually join the Big 10. We should keep enough good will for us to be their yearly pairing.
There will be enough institutional pushback from everyone else on this MOU bullcrap.
they are usually in the top 15 in viewership numbers though...Alabama was #1 so may have been part of the reason the committee selected them to be in the CFP despite getting 3 losses and trounced in the SEC championship game.Except their only top 10 game in viewership was Miami.
They hold the same power in the CFP as an entire conference. What exactly is the source of ND's influence that would give it the leverage to get such an unfair deal?
Yeah this myth of ND as such a draw on TV needs to end. It has not been true since the days of Lou Holtz. To most of America they are just another team that matters sometimes, and doesn’t matter other times.Except their only top 10 game in viewership was Miami.
An exaggeration, no? More power than the SEC?They hold the same power in the CFP as an entire conference.![]()
we have decades worth of equity from the rivalry... shouldn't be much recency bias on this one. We should be viewed as their more capable rivals for the next 5 years even if we don't play again.do you feel that notre dame is going to hand pick who they go into the big10 with? What power does notre dame have to be “our ticket” into big10? If the big10 wants us that’s all that matters.
$$$$$$ large viewership and national brand
“The CFP Management Committee for the College Football Playoff is a group of conference commissioners (Big Ten, SEC, ACC, etc.) and the Notre Dame AD, responsible for the day-to-day operations and governance of the CFP, overseeing the selection committee's work but ultimately subject to the larger Board of Managers. This committee handles crucial decisions, like approving playoff format changes, while the separate Selection Committee picks and ranks the teams“An exaggeration, no? More power than the SEC?
Even if you beat Notre Lame, they’ll still try to use that as a “good loss” to weasel their way into the CFP.
Don’t give them that opportunity.
I don’t want to go to the B1G but yes, I think if ND went to the B1G and said they’ll join if Miami is their partner to join, the B1G would do it.do you feel that notre dame is going to hand pick who they go into the big10 with? What power does notre dame have to be “our ticket” into big10? If the big10 wants us that’s all that matters.
