St. Brown is very good but lots of ND fans seem to be down on him - why is that? IIRC, he gave us fits last year.

Wimbush does not concern me as a passer. Yeah, he may get some TE seam routes off play action or max protect play action kinds of throws but the damage he'll do to us will be on the ground. Jackson, the QB from VT, tried running read zone and QB draws several times during the game. I felt that if he had the speed of Wimbush, he would have broken more. I'm sure Wimbush will gash us at times. The big thing with him is to get him spooked by constantly getting after him and maybe forcing an early INT. I think if we get an early INT, with the crowd noise and maybe getting hit a couple times, that will rattle him the rest of the game. This is his first year as a starter and his first road challenge - that's a tough spot to be in for a young QB.

It is. I think his receivers need to step up as a group to give them a shot.

Not that I disagree that the defense tries to attack the QB, but we haven't exactly faced a murderer's row of QBs this season, and certainly not the "toughest dual threat guys around."

not trying to sound like a homer, but i think he will be the best Qb you have faced yet. He runs very well and can throw way better than his stats show. He has a little bit of an accuracy issue, but its gotten a lot better. He just needs his receivers to help him out. He may only pass for 140 yards, but he forces teems to respect him as if he was throwing 300, which opens up the run game.

I disagree with the other poster. We have faced a murderer's row of QBs. Aside from teams that have played both Baker Mayfield and Mason Rudolph, we may have faced one of the tougher slates of QBs of any team.

Logan Woodside of Toledo is one of the best and smartest QBs I've seen all year. I am super impressed by him and I believe he's gonna be a NFL QB. He won't get drafted too high due to not checking all the measurables boxes, but he's a gamer.

Eric Dungey of Syracuse is the fearless leader of Syracuse's high powered offensive attack. Great dual threat QB. Toughest competitor we've faced.

Daniel Jones of Duke leads a strong offense and is a NFL prospect under David Cutcliffe's tutelage.

Logan Woodside is the only QB to not have a turnover against us.

during the middle of the first game i told my wife that wimbush would throw at least 1 pick a game. he was fearless in his throws. he tightened up a bit during the georgia game, but has finally started to get that confidence back. He hasn't turned it over since georgia. I wouldn't be surprised if he throws one Saturday, but i have been impressed with his ability to shake off mistakes.

We've forced 13 turnovers the last 3 games. 9 of those were INT's.

St. Brown is not physical enough IMO. He is very quick and very athletic. but to be great you have to get nasty with the DB's and he is just content running his routes. He doesn't come back and help out his Qb when hes scrambling either. There was a play last saturday when wimbush scrambled for awhile and ran it to the right for 20-30 yards. There was litterally nobody on that side of the field. while i was happy it was a great run, there should have been a receiver coming back and fighting to get open. Claypool is starting to figure this out faster then anyone else. Plus, they have seem to double st. brown limiting his ability to run by you.

Lets see how good that ND o-line is when they can't hear the cadence or blitz pickups.

So to give some context on our WRs. Ahmmon Richards is a superstar. He's been hobbled by a nagging hamstring so he hasn't been fully available this season, but he's still had some big plays and by all accounts is healthier every week. We will need him to be himself this Saturday. He broke Michael Irvin's freshman receiving yards record last year. He will be a 1st rounder after next season. He's in the same tier as the most talented guys we've had come through UM IMO. Look up some of his freshman highlights.

Braxton Berrios is the ideal slot guy. He's quick, fast, smart, and pure grit. He's one of our offensive leaders and is having his best season. He has come up big when we needed it this year.

Other than those two, our WRs are mostly potential as Jeff Thomas is a true freshman but was the fastest recruit in the 2017 class. He was the Under Armour game MVP. We've gotten a few big plays out of him this year and he has more consistently been involved as the season goes on. Darrell Langham is a big target who is great on contested balls. He's not a consistent guy for us, but he is proving to fill that role brilliantly. I'm not familiar with ND's WRs but it's possible you guys could have someone that could start for us, but it wouldn't be over Ahmmon or Braxton unless they're playing like a sure fire top 3 round NFL guy.

Additionally, Chris Herndon is our do-it-all TE who will be drafted and play in the NFL

sounds pretty close to us. We are lacking that superstar. potential is there for a couple though.

Miami has 13 int's this year, USC and boston college also have 13. Wimbush didn't have 1 against either. He is getting pretty good at taking care of the ball. I still expect 1 this saturday, but would be surprised if its 2, unless we are down big and have to just start throwing every play.

I'll be very specific. Since ND has tended to lead games and lost its one close game, do you think that the team has any "come-from-behind" capability? Obviously, Miami has demonstrated such in several close games, just not sure if the ND players have that same dog in them, compared to what the Miami players have shown.

Going by the numbers ND is 5th in the nation in rushing while 109th in passing so Miami's game plan shoulden't be so difficult on defense, on defense ND is 17th in the country in points against which is good, Miami has a more balance attack on offense which is why they are ranked 23rd in passing and 54th in rushing, defensively Miami is 12th in the nation in points against. I love Miami's chances in this home game and I believe they will win.

Dexter will play, although he is not 100%. coney is going to be a superstar IMO. He is technically 2nd string, but wow, what a talent. I would expect to see him a lot on saturday.

I fully expect Dexter to transfer after this year. He is a very talented running back. I have argued with ND fans since last year on his usefulness though. It took until week 4 before people would finally stop talking about him and complaining that he wasn't playing more. He is very fast. but he is weak at pass blocking and goes down to easy. When we lost to georgia there were people crying all over that Dexter should have played (0 caries). I couldn't believe it. If he is in the game, he gives no support to the QB. Adams can run through tackles, is a good pass blocker and catches ok out of the backfield. i have always said of adams is that he is a B to B+ in everything. Dexter is an A in speed, but a C (or worse) in so many other areas.

So you will see him, But adams first, then tony jones jr and mcintosh (whichever is hotter). I think ND has had great sucess when they have 2 backs on the field and line up with one on each side of the QB.

What I have noticed about ND's schedule is that they have played no close games in a hostile environment. Toughest road test to date has been Michigan State, and ND jumped up 14-0 quick to kind of take the crowd out of it. How does ND and Wimbush respond to adversity on the road? This will be the key.

i think its going to be a heck of a game. the only advice i can give on this is what i have said before, Wimbush is far more dangerous passing then the stats show... But looking at the stats for both teams, i think it has the recipe of a great game.

Richards is the guy that hurdled one of your players last year. He did the same this year except the guy was standing straight up. One reception is all it takes to see he's a superstar. Just hope he's healthy.

Honestly, I don't know. Miami clearly has shown that. I think they have the fight for a 1 score game, but if Miami jumps out 14-0, i can't say for sure if they have it in them to fight back. They haven't been put in that situation to say. There are little windows that you can try and look at though. against NC State, they had a blocked punt TD to start the game and they responded back with a TD. There have been a couple other times, USC scored to start the 2nd half to make it 28-14 and i expected them to tighten up like the ALWAYS Do, but they didn't - they came back and scored right away. This team is a different like that. Last year, they went 4-8, and i think in 6 of those losses they had the lead in the first half and just couldn't handle the adversity and would tighten up and lose the game.

i agree, although im not sure if this is a group that would get intimidated by loud noise, but it would definitely cause problems with making calls.

What was the hottest temperature at game time that ND has played in this year?

The reason it is relevant is that most likely it will be in the high 70s at game time with high humidity. I assume ND is accustomed to playing in 50ish degree weather, especially in the last month or so. As a result, ND could start to wear down come late third quarter / early fourth quarter.

The Miami heat could be good for a 7 point advantage.
