Not The Biggest Deal But Not The Best Look

Ugh. The replies are exactly what you'd expect. Obviously we loved when he threw up the U at their graduation but I'm not exactly sure how people always expect fans (of any program) to not bristle at all at things like this- especially when the context of the current season is applied.

Who gives a F**K??? He played against his former teammates/brothers. Let the kid enjoy a moment. Life is bigger than football man. And from what I saw, he played like a man possessed in the 2nd half. He gave everything he had trying to make us win.

Like I said, it's not a big deal but it does show a lack of self-awareness by being public with it.

Again, one can say we're being hypocritical when anyone remotely furls a brow at stuff like this because of what he did at Vag Tech's graduation but even that was layered with him essentially having been booted from that program. Not too many of us took any issue with Vag Tech fans not being thrilled about him doing that either even if we loved it.

You have a fanbase here now that is very angry and a head coach that is taking a lot of heat. Just sayin' maybe go yuck it up post shameful loss with your previous brothers but why not avoid the backlash and not rush to post the moment publicly?

I have more of an issue Mark Pope posting his stupid hail mary catch after a loss

Trevon in the second half was the very definition of "playing with fire". He's not a huge dude and was absolutely pushing 1-2 guys at a time backwards on every snap. Dude was possessed! And I loved every minute of it. That was the Trevon I was hoping we were getting every game this year.

LMAO, people will complain about ANY & EVERYTHING. The man took pictures with his former team & people who he will probably be friends with for the rest of his life.

It's obviously a different generation but feeling the need to post the photos publicly just shows you have greater concern in the moment for publicly expressing love for those former teammates than you have respect for the current ****show state your current team is in and any concern about a ****ed off fanbase.

Those former teammates obviously know how he feels about them. They were there with him in the post game celebration.

Again, not a huge deal but it's still dumb on a personal p-r level.

Can't see the fault in this one. Some things are bigger than football. He had an issue with his coaches at V-Tech, not his brothers. The optics are not the best, but optics management should not replace the essence of the moment that he was sharing with his brothers.

I'd agree with the essence of this. I absolutely don't begrudge his relationships with anyone on that team. So you're right that it's just optics. I wouldn't have even mentioned this if he takes the photos and they were posted by Vag Tech players. I still just think it's bad form for him to throw them up on his social media as his current home is on fire.

Imagine if we somehow played Georgia this year and upset them at home and Cager did this. I'm not defending SEC cultist lunatics but how bad would he be getting killed today as opposed to me just mentioning that it's not the greatest look?

Yep huge difference between teammates and coaches/admin

Hes with his longtime friends who he just tried his hardest to beat and is still adamantly throwing up the U. Hes more of a cane than most kids on the team and all the coaches.

I personally dont have a problem with your OP. I'm sure Tre was fully aware that him posting the pic would be met with some level of scrutiny, hence why he captioned it with "what's understood, don't gotta be explained."

It's all love, in my book. Tre was just happy to see his brothers again. Had it been me, I would have waited until after the season, but I am a 38 year old married man with a Big 3 starting lineup for children. My way of thinking is closer to Grant Hill than it is Tevon Hill. Lol

You’re a good guy Tad, and like what you generally post, but you’re overthinking this one. Yeah, it could be construed either way, but the good news is, Trevon’s one of ours. They get to go home without him.

And he threw up the U while taking the picture. OP is reaching.

Possibly reaching but definitely ****y. I have absolutely no agenda against Hill as I may have been the first to post the graduation video here. This is just me looking at most Canes related things since Saturday though:
