We spotted this team 14 and then rolled them 44-14 the rest of the way. Felt closer than it was.

As has been said, this a bowl team with a veteran group of players and good coaching. I get what you're saying, and tbh, after re watching the game, they could've been up even more if that onside kick (great call) went their way bc they would've certainly scored (we couldn't stop them the first half) and the situation would've been even more dire for us.

But to put things in perspective, I think alot of us underestimated these guys. Not that their some elite team or anything, but I think their better than ND and they're gonna handle VT, the two teams some worried about the most.

The sign of an elite team is not how they play when things are going well.
On the contrary, it is how a team comes back when facing adversity. This team has done that time and time again.
They have the belief that no matter what happens at the beginning of the game that they will be victorious at the end.
That belief and that team spirit is so valuable.

Coaching plus Florida athletes, even not a full compliment is better than all of america. Especially a roster full from south Florida...ridiculous!!!

Agreed in MMA terms they’d say our team is used to being in “Wars” and “in deep waters”. A lot of grit has been formed.

I think the Onside kick was a horrible idea and I generally like aggressive coaching. At that point in the game our offense was trash. Their defense had a great chance to force a 3 and out. They would have had the same field position. Good for us.

I agree with you here. It was aggressive for the sake of being aggressive. They didn't need to steel a possession from us because we had nothing going on offense.

Hey if richt calls the games last year to kaaya's strength we finish with only one loss.

The problem with that is, the other team has to field a defense on the field. Kaaya's all world when he has no pressure facing him.

We got punched in the mouth twice and then put up 30 unanswered.

Say what you want but that is the mark of a championship caliber team.

Spotted them 14 twice. It was close until it wasn't. Too much talent and calm leadership on Miami for even a superbly prepared team with a few NFL players on it playing its best game. Earlier in the year, this might have gone to the last seconds like other games had, but team is improving every week. ND game showed our crush any team quality. This game showed our championship quality. For those who doubt we will win it all, this game is for you.

We got punched in da mouth and recovered, yes. But what if we get kicked in da nutz, what den?

I knew we were going to win when we were tied at 14 and their QB couldn't throw an incomplete pass. He wasn't going to play 4 quarters of perfect football.

Ending with a 30-0 run really made a statement. We survived Virginia playing flawless for just over 2 quarters, then absolutely destroyed them.

The onside kick turned out to be a mistake, but had it worked, it might just have finished us off. Mendenhall was clearly looking to drive a stake through the heart of a vampire - it just didn't work out the way he hoped.
