Not crowning but ****

I’ve read a lot of posters hating on TVD for months. Some saying he’s trash and shouldn’t be playing at this level, that’s from a person who supposedly saw him in HS. You know who you are lol. We all know why too, folks had already crowned the prodigal son. I always preached I won’t crown players anymore until I see it on the field, and I won’t be crowning TVD in this thread. But I will say I saw some things today that I haven’t seen from many qb’s starting their careers. I‘m not even talking stats, I noticed small things that blew me away.

1. Tvd goes through all his reads and takes what the defense gives him, he reads coverage very well especially for his amount of starts.

2. He uses his eyes like a four year starter , moving Lb’s db’s out of their coverages. One simple play was around 9:30-9:40 in the fourth , he looked to a flat route , moved his eyes to the middle of the field and the lb backed out of the zone. Then he came back to the original read . It was a 4-5 yard gain but still. It’s the small things.

3. He’s always in control , never shaken, he’s body language always remains the same . He’s a cool cat and that matters especially for his teammates. They want leaders who have shall I say “ swag “not fake confidence.

4. We know he has unreal physical talent and makes nfl throws. But it’s looking obvious he has the “ it“ factor you want in a qb , making the play regardless of it’s a scramble , check down or running down a fumble trying to knock it out of bounds to save the possession / game.

The play That blew me away the most was a turnover lol. First it was a great play call by RL. We rolled the pocket right , it was pretty much a one man route to the sticks. Harley cleared the zone out and Rambo was wide open for the first down but he fell down. TVD rightly started to throw the ball away then he saw the post cut open behind the secondary, the secondary collapsed on the wide open Rambo. We all know Harley fell too but it was an easy big play or even a td if he doesn’t. I know the cardinal rule is not to throw back across the middle of the field late but that was a big big playmaker type play . To attempt that is beyond crazy , but having the eyes to see that is even crazier. That’s something you have or you don’t.

As I said I’m not crowning him but we might have something here we haven’t had in awhile. There’s definitely something here to work with.

Tvd and Garcia make the job little more **** for the next guy.
TVD has always had a cannon arm. What was his pitching speed in baseball? I thought it was 90 mph if I can remember it right, but have not been able to find it? Just like running speed cannot be taught just like throwing it that hard and he has a fast release and can throw anywhere on the field. Something you are born with. King could not throw the deep ball and was never a true passer.

I believe so unfortunately
It’s been a tough stretch. Didn’t get much better after Harris. A lot of quarterbacks had talent, but unfortunately, we never had a consistent signal caller.

Wright, Harris, Morris, Kaaya, and Rosier all showed flashes, but ****….we really need TVD to be the one.

Wut?!?!

Brock Berlin took the Keys from Kyle Wright? Berlin was the starting QB before Kyle Wright.

Go look at the history...the job was Kyles for the taking and basically handed to him on a silver platter...but Berlin beat him out for the job.

What are you talking about?! He was redshirted his freshman year and the was the backup to Brock when Brock was a senior during Kyle’s redshirt Freshman year.

Question for all you gurus...DoesTVD also hand the ball to the running back quicker than king or is it just me? I feel like king would stand forever waiting to give the ball to cam whereas TVD gets the play rolling much quicker. It’s a little thing but makes a big difference
The difference is he is handing it off to Knighton. He is so quick he sometimes doesn’t even move at first. Just stands there and waits for the hole to open before he goes.

So what are you talking about that the job was there for the taking? Brock was a big deal. The transfer from UiF was a big deal.

Brock was absolute dog **** his first year here and Kyle was the Gatorade player of the year and the next savior. The job was Kyle’s to take coming into the 2004 season and he couldn’t beat out Brock. Once Kyle became the starter, we all ended up understanding why he couldn’t beat out Berlin. The job was Kyles for the taking but he couldn’t get it done.

people were down on him when he was straight trash in the first half of two consecutive starts. He’s growing. Doing really well. Love to see it. Let’s keep it up because if he goes down we’ll be in some serious trouble.

I joke around by calling him TVD Trask, but he is having a similar impact to Trask last year for the Turds.

I mean who is/will be the better player is debatable, but Trask can only dream of the arm strength that TVD has displayed the last couple of weeks.

The ability to make off platform throws, to drive the ball down the field and "get it there" before defenses can react, Trask is kinda limited in those areas.

TVD can pretty much put it out there 40 yards on a rope and doesn't need a high trajectory to get it there.

Oh, yeah.

I wasn’t comparing their skill sets, however. I was comparing the impact of the situation where Trask came in for an injured Franks. Same as TVD for King and then that they both just make their offenses so highly powered scoring offenses, unlike how it was with the teammates they replaced.

I think we’re all a little cautious on being hurt again lol. Let’s see we’ve had Wright, Kayaa , JW and kosi that we’ve crowned and thought we have the guy. **** we crowned guys like Olsen before they even played a down , some calling him “ baby Jesus”.

With all that said we haven’t had a guy like this in a couple decades , with the physical and mental skills this guys showing. Him moving defenders with his eyes is next level ****, so is throwing guys open. Especially for his age.

I think we have a good one.
Facts now let's see if the next staff can put elite players around him. That's the key right now
